Facing Future

I bought this after reading a review / recommendation in the new Rough Guide to World Music - I've been quite keen on Hawaiian music for some time and recently I've taken up the ukulele. My reactions are rather mixed: I love the acoustic songs, with simple ukulele accompaniment. Not so keen on the songs in English, whose lyrics are a bit pedestrian, and as I'm no fan of bombast I really can't come to terms with the big production numbers with strings. But there's definitely a lot to enjoy here: the man had a beautiful voice (maybe several different voices) and his uke playing is superb.Four stars!

Got this really for two tracks . But glad i got it

Received CD today, was disappointed the CD had no front cover.ive checked on the page of items for sale,and it does not say that the front cover is missing. As it wasn't a cheap CD.I feel kind of cheated......but the del.was exc.and the CD plays well......MR.A.LBULL

I heard Iz` version of somewhere over the rainbow a while ago and loved it. I then stumbled upon it by chance on youtube. Having heard more of his music I thought that I would buy this album . I think it is good,although I am not a fan of country roads. His style was amazing and he seemed unique . Hawai`i 78 introduction at the start is wonderful and also the normal song version at the end. Great music . Great man. Sorry that he isn`t around now.
