Gigibit Network Card,Six-Ports RJ45 Copper Ethernet Adapter, with Intel I350 Chip, PCI-Express X4 NIC Adapter Support Windows Server/Linux/VMware

This card works as advertised, which is all I could hope for. I mean, it doesn’t have a fit or color to report on. It works - and that means it’s fabulous!

At first it didn't work on Windows 10. I am using a Unify 10gb DAC cable and in order to get it to work in Windows 10 I had to force the line speed to 10gb (not auto) and poof it worked got an ip address and is now my primary connection. Driver installed as X520-1

This adapter worked pretty well but I had trouble with the driver for the aquantia trip. I had a much easier time getting an intel 10gbe card installed than this one, so if you're doing linux, or a linux based os you could possibly run into trouble. Another thing is that this chip gets very hot, you need to have a fan on it for sure, I tried directing airflow over it from my front case fans but it wasnt enough, get a40mm noctua fan and just strap it straight to the heatsink. during writes, I was dropping speeds, it wasnt till I attached a fan that I was able to fix the issue. Overall though the card is pretty good, it performs well once its given the right resources it needs. 8/10 rating.

I used this x4 Intel SFP+ card to replace a x8 Intel X520-DA2 to avoid bifurcating two x16 slots, which freed up lane capacity for an Optane hot spare. The x4 card is highlighted in magenta on this TrueNAS Scale rig.

The card runs very hot. The poor choice of thermal compound or tape means that it melts, such that the heatsink disconnects from the chip.

The installation process was a breeze. I was immediately able to use this network card. However, it currently only shows up as a 1Gb NIC. It could be that you need to use it specifically in a Windows machine to get the full capabilities but I don't recall doing anything special with my 2.5Gb NIC that this replaced to get the full speed.

Easy to install simple to use. Great for adding 10gb to a server for increased connection speed. Just make sure the cable and port you plug it into is also 10gb rated

I installed this on an MSI motherboard and am using Truenas Scale. I have not been able to get as high as expected throughput but am not sure if if that is a Truenas tuning issue or the Transceiver. Will update when I have found where the throughput issue is.
