I was really happy to get this since I didn’t know my dog’s actual age as she’s an adopted stray. The results seem accurate and honestly a bit cathartic for me, especially as she’s been dealing with some health issues. I always thought she was around 12–13, so learning she’s closer to 16–17 gave me peace of mind knowing she’s lived a long, full life. The estimated birthday was a sweet bonus and gave us an excuse to throw her a “Sweet 16.” I’d definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to learn more about their pup. 🐾

I enjoy the Embark products, and the age test was new to me. I picked up a new dog with missing front teeth, which are used for aging by the vet. One person guessed that the dog was under a year while another person guessed that the dog was seven or so. I decided to narrow this down using this product. The technology does not allow for exact aging, but can narrow it down to just over a year in range. This was very helpful for me, worth the money. It's very easy to use and Embark is an easy company to work with. I got the answers I was looking for, which is helpful with veterinary Care.

If I could give this product and Embark a negative 1,000,000 stars, I would. I followed every instruction accurately with this DNA age test on my beloved best friend. I also performed a DNA test with Wisdom Panel at the exact same time that came back quickly with results. Embark takes so long that by the time they notified me something went wrong with the swab they received for my beloved baby, who was a rescue dog, my service dog, and my soulmate for the past decade, my pup had since passed away. I was already gutted and traumatized beyond belief. This was a stab to the heart and then turning the knife. There is no phone support, only chat or mail support, which is pretty awful. I’ve been grieving for the past month after losing my best friend, and to get this cold news that I was so hopeful to find out her real age, it just reopened the wound and all the trauma that I’ve been working so hard to heal from. Today was the first day I didn’t wake up in a waterfall of tears, but now I’m back to square one. Do not waste your time, money, or hope on this awful product and even more awful company. I not only ordered this test on Amazon, but I also ordered this same exact same test directly from Embark, and none of them arrived in sealed packaging from either source. No wonder the results didn’t take. What a joke. And a huge mistake. I’m so heartbroken and Embark just re-broke my heart into another million pieces. Absolutely unbelievable and horrible. No words.

We had a rescue from a family friend. After hearing so many different estimates on his age, we decided to order this test. They have us a 18 month windows of when they expected him to be born. It helped us out with care options knowing a closer side of his age. I would do one of these test kits again if I'm unsure of their age.

I adopted a dog that the shelter estimated should be 6 years old right now, but I have always suspected that he is younger based on behavior and other clues. This age test estimates that he is 3 1/2 years old, which seems very accurate and is close to what I would have guessed. There is no way to know for sure, but I am happy with the results. The only downside is that the kit is pricey. There is also a fairly wide margin of error, so it is important to have realistic expectations, but I feel confident that the results are accurate within 6 months in my case.

Found out my rescue was two years younger than I was told. He's a senior now and that made my heart happy.
