Elkay LKQS35WH Polymer Drain Fitting with Removable Basket Strainer and Rubber Stopper, White

Can’t be used if you’re installing a garbage disposal.

This was exactly what we needed to replace our old, worn out sink strainer/stopper. Perfect fit!

Good quality but I picked the wrong product for what I needed

Sometime during our remodel, the drain that came with the Kraus granite composite workstation sink was misplaced. I looked everywhere locally and couldn't find a suitable black drain so I ordered this Elkay black drain hoping it would match. Elkay has a good reputation for faucets, so I felt the quality would be good, but I was concerned about the color. It looks great, and the instructions were straightforward and easy to follow.Interestingly, they don't recommend using plumber's putty, but instead, silicone. Because there will inevitably be some that is visible, he used black silicone gasket maker and it looks great! (See pics) It has been over a week- no leaks and it matches really well!

This item (black) matches my Kohler Kennon Matte Black Neoroc sink perfectly. The center post is metal, and the whole assembly seems sturdy. For what it's worth, we had 2 Elkay drains + strainers in our Kohler black cast iron sink for 18 years and they performed perfectly, no issues. They were entirely plastic, which was not an impediment to their durability.For those who were having trouble with the gasket and thought the drain sits too high above the level of the sink so that water wouldn't drain, the issue is with the installation. The installation directions are admittedly not the clearest they could be. However, the key is to realize that the gasket is supposed to be installed UNDER THE SINK, NOT ON TOP OF IT. The gasket goes BETWEEN THE UNDERSIDE OF THE SINK AND THE LOWER DRAIN ASSEMBLY. When installed properly, the upper part of the drain assembly (the part you see in the sink, and the part in which the strainer basket sits) sits quite flush with the sink - no issues with water draining.This is a great product; don't hesitate to purchase; install properly.

I could not use it for the purpose intended. However I installed an garbage disposal and I could not use it so I took off the screw it came with and just placed it as a cover, strainer and stroper in the sink anyway. It still fits but movable since I had to take the screw out. It does stop the water completely so I can use it for a good finish instead of the silver frame the insinkeratir badger garbage disposal would have left behind. Kept it because I got it for the used price and it was in perfect condition it still makes my kitchen sink look better

With the new Elkay Dusk Grey sink going in...bit the bullet and went with the matching drain. More than I wanted to spend...BUT wanted to do it right. VERY happy I did.

Caviar colour matches well with Blanco anthracite sink, but finish is glossy not matte, as it appears on the Elkay website.

The basket seemed fine except for 1 thing. It was white on the bottom & showed slightly when I fit it in my new sink which is black & not the look I'm going for.

This drain looks great with my black sink. My only issue is that the plastic under piece that screws it to the sink is white plastic. So when you look in the sink you see white. Normally won't matter, but it is noticeable with a black sink. Great product otherwise.
