Do yourself a favorite and get these for your kids
These bricks are great. I, like you, read reviews for every off-brand "building brick" on amazon. Lego brand bricks are usually my go to, but 1. they are expensive (I think I read somewhere that they cost 10 cents a brick... what??) and 2. ummm... we just needed more bricks - a lot more. Unless they're sorted and a part of a specific kit, which lasts about 1 day at my house, they're all just bricks, so when I found these on Amazon I was sure they were too good to be true.Turns out, I was wrong - these are amazing. We received exactly what was advertised - no teeny, tiny bricks (our smallest was 1x1 tall, and there wasn't a hundred of them, but no 1x1 thin bricks to be found!!) and they all snapped perfectly with our Lego brand bricks (and mega bloks and two other no-name brand bricks). We did not have the problem with the color differences someone else noted - our yellow was the same as all of the other brands, and we received two types of blue (light - which is more bright and less pastel, and primary which looks just like Lego). The only thing we did not receive was any brown bricks - although it states it contains some on the sticker, we did not get any. The color assortment was relatively fair and even throughout aside from the pink and purple bricks - which together totaled an even amount compared to the others. We have no had the trouble with the 2x6 thin bricks that some other people noted, like the breaking or not snapping together, but we haven't tried to purposefully break them either :).All in all I wish I had known about these long before I spent hundreds of dollars for Lego brand kits that my kid skillfully builds in one day - only to unskillfully break them apart the next to use the bricks for his other creations.

Name Brand Quality At a Lower Price!
Like many of you, I played with Lego blocks when I was a kid - and I know full well that my parents never paid the kind of money that Lego is charging today for its products. So I did some comparison shopping to find a "knock-off" brand to save some money. Of course, I was worried that lower cost would mean lower quality. To my great satisfaction, these "Building Bricks" by Big Bag of Bricks are as good as the name brand.First, the price can't be beat. The name brand blocks are nearly 4 times as expensive! Second, the quality is equal to the name brand. These blocks fit tight and are compatible with Legos. Third, the variety is excellent. There are 10 colors, including purple, pink and light blue - and includes a wide mix of brick sizes.I bought these for my 5 year old. We have built all kinds of things - a car, a dog, a helicopter, newspaper stands... all kinds of things. Really, the only thing that limits the child's building projects is his or her imagination.I definitely would recommend this set to folks looking for Lego brand quality at a lower price.

Good Deal with 18% Big Pieces (actual count provided with review)
My kids and I counted the bag contents. The results are below. Our count totals more than 1000 pieces, but we recounted the most numerous pieces, so I am pretty sure the count is accurate:1x1 = 120 pieces1x2 = 2261x3 = 401x4 = 301x6 = 31 (one has mis-shapen end)1x8 = 492x2 = 1422x3 = 902x4 = 1022x6 = 302x8 = 492x10 (flat) = 20roof = 53L-shaped 1x3 = 62The 2x4,6,8s total 181 pieces, which is MUCH better than Lego offers. They fit Legos very well with only a few exceptions. Given the cost savings, I have no problem tossing a few bad fit pieces out. To get a similar mix of Legos would have been twice as much or more. So, definitely not Legos, but a good bargain and my kids are happy. They built things using these blocks and our Legos. You can't tell which pieces are Legos and which are not as you look at the constructions.

Distribution: not random, not quite even either.
I bought those for the purpose of doing mosaics, to go along with a set of 2000 1x1 bricks from the same seller. I figured the larger bricks would be cheaper and faster than 1x1 bricks when filling large surfaces. The distribution of colors is clearly not random, but it's not entirely even either. The colors are white, gray, black, red, yellow, green, blue, light blue, pink, and purple. No browns even though they're mentioned on the label. There are 54 roof pieces, all sloping from a 2x2 base to 2x1 studs, 18 each of red, gray and black. The roof surface is slick and shiny. There are 2 2x10 plates and 6 2x2 L plates (3 studs total) for each color. There are 3 2x6 bricks, 5 1x8 bricks, 3 1x6 bricks, 3 1x4 bricks and 4 1x3 bricks or each color.I'm not sure what the logic is for the 2x4, 2x3 and 2x2 bricks. There's an even number of each for each color, from 8 to 12 2x4, from 8 to 10 2x3 and from 10 to 20 2x2 bricks, for respective totals in my case of 102, 90 and 142. Pinks and light blues are at the bottom of the scale, with purples and grays barely slightly above. For 2x1 and 1x1 bricks, some colors have 24 and 14 of those, some have 22 and 12, some have 20 and 10, for respective totals of 226 and 126. Again, pinks and light blues are at the bottom of the scale, with purples and grays just slightly above.Total: 1000 pieces, 866 straight bricks, 740 bricks larger than 1x1, including 364 thick bricks (at least 2x2), 3682 brick studs (an important count for mosaicists) not counting the plates. Between 74 and 98 bricks per color, with fewer pinks, light blues, purples and grays. My bag was actually missing 2 pieces, a green L and a gray 2x4, which implies that buyers shouldn't expect a perfect count.Overall, a solid purchase, with a good variety of brick sizes, a decent number of large bricks, and a good range of colors. Would buy again for larger mosaics.Edit after a few days: I've noticed that the pink bricks have slightly uneven colors, some are slight on the pale side compared to others. It's hard to see unless I hold bricks exactly side by side.
