Guitar Practice Planner: Weekly Lesson Planner for Guitarists (Hal Leonard Guitar Method (Songbooks))
E**E
Not what I expected, but for its price it's good
Not quite what I hoped forI was hoping for a book that would layout a good foundation--- like week one learn these chords or scales, week 2 learn this, etc. This book is completely "learn as you want" which is both good and bad. As a beginner, you might lack direction or focus. You might not know where to begin, like me, and are aimlessly learning chords and songs. But if you're more advanced, you might want an independent study book like this oneThis book has 64 pages of exactly the same thing. It's a journal outline that says:-Week of:-Goals:Then offers the topics chords, scales, arpeggios, songs, licks/riffs, and other in a table. You write your description of those, then write how many minutes you studied each and on which days of the week.On the bottom are about 8 measures' worth of staves (treble cleff and TAB included in each)Below that are 9 chord boxes, for you to draw the chord shapes you learned^^^ This page repeats 64 times, so you have 64 weeks' of learning journal entries. Or if you move faster than this you could pretend it's still the same week or add pages or somethingI am admittedly disappointed that's all this book was. Not even fun information tidbits, pictures, suggestions, or inspirational quotes like a lot of journals. Book is the size and shape of an average paperback Hal Leonard sheet music book, albeit a thin one as there are only 64 pages. Do not regret buying because the price is so low, but just so you know you can easily make your own study book

Good for customizing your practice plan.
The planner doesn't have a practice routine in it,, you add whatever your plan is yourself.

Great fun
There are few of these types of journals or books out. There are few at this good price. So for that, I gave it 5 star and took one away because it wasn't perfect in execution. These are very good for recording your experiences and practice sessions. These are good to work with a private teacher and have record of progress and assignments. In the end you have a nifty historical record of your progress. I'm on my third one and when I go back to the first there is always something I forgot and there it is staring at me. I would prefer fewer topic boxes and either another staff or larger chord boxes. A useful diary at a great price.

Basic
Finding a guitar lesson planner was not as easy as I expected. What to include and what not to...that's the rub. Overall this one is fair..I didn't have to design it. It's layout is not ideal, but it does provide a number of fields for entry. I have retitled several of the boxes to accomodate my lesson focus. If you're not sure on how you want to log your training...this will give you a boost until your hone in on what you want.

Perfect for itsโ use
Perfect for guitar students. If only my teacher could write better.

Really is just a planner
Would have been nice if it had some guidance or guitar practice examples

theres nothing in this book you cant do with word or excel
theres nothing in this book you cant do with word or excel, saveyour self some money and make your own sheet unless you really have to have it done for you, there is just a template and no extra information on pratice planing guides etc, its a waste of money for me. this is nothing i couldn't have made in 5 minutes on a computer.
