Yes, this airplane building kits need glue to put it together. It is a little challenging 3d wooden puzzle which is required more patience.

Yes there are plans and they could be enlarged, but as such the plans are poorly written and I found the plane almost impossible to build.

Q: Can this be covered with tissue or silk?

I don’t see in reason you couldn’t cover it I’ve thought about doing that myself
