I’ve been spray tanning for about 10 years. It was my favorite thing to do in the salon because of how happy it made people. I also spray myself at least once a week. My go to has always been Norvel Venetian Plus (the 1 hour spray). A few years ago after I finished chemo the smell of Norvel started to bother me and even triggered a migraine if I left it on overnight. Sadly enough I had to stop using it. It was like breaking up with my favorite boyfriend! I had no idea what I was going to use since that is the only way that I tan. Norvel was the only spray tan that I knew, trusted and used. I even went to classes they offered and was in love with their product (sounds a little dramatic I know), but it’s true. After trying several different sprays, I came across this. I was very skeptical because nothing I had tried worked the way I was used to. I look for 3 things in a spray: color, length of time to get the desired color and smell. I was shocked at how quickly this color not only developed, but how dark it got and the SMELL didn’t bother me. What I like about this spray (besides the smell not giving me a headache) is that it really gets dark. I always spray myself right before I go to sleep and shower the next morning, but I don’t have to leave this on overnight. A few hours snd I have a nice tan and it continues to darken the next day. The first time I tried it I actually got scared that I was going to be to dark but I wasn’t. This product also costs almost HALF of what Norvel does which is great. This has now become my go to and if you are looking for a spray that has a beautiful color, develops quickly and doesn’t stink then you should definitely try it. 5 stars all the way and new fav! My go to spray tanning solution! I was a norvell user for a long time but wanted to switch things up. So I tried Sjolie and now will never go back! It isn’t orange and I love how my clients can manage their darkness level on their own! I have nothing but rave reviews since I switched!

***update: I’ve had this on for 12 days, (I only let it develop for two hours, the minimum recommend time) I’ve showered many times, used sugar scrubs, dry brush, etc and I still have terrible splotches I’m trying to get rid of! I love the color this tan developed into, but the fading is LESS than ideal. Changing my rating from a 2 star, to 1*** I am still very new to the world of spray tans, but I didn’t like this nearly as much as the Norvell Venetian Rapid solution. This felt very sticky on my skin and takes a minimum of two hours before rinsing compared to Norvell’s minimum of one hour.

Love this solution and that it is rapid! I wear it for 4 hours and the color is great! If you don't want to be too dark you just have to wear for 2 hours. LOVE!

I have fallen in love with Sjolie tanning products. They are easy for beginners and once you spray your clients the smell is better than any other product I’ve used. And that’s a big deal to me.

Liked that tan that it gave me. The reason I gave it three stars is because it leaves a sticky feeling on your skin until your first wash.

I purchased this product to use at home with my spray tan gun after trying the Norvelle product that seemed to be the most highly recommended. That product made me extremely orange so I found this which is the same product my spray tan artist uses. I followed the instructions I remembered from her and if you do that this product really is GREAT. To start, keep it on at least 3 hours but wash off by 4 hours if you’re wanting a deep tan. When you wash it off DONT SCRUB AND DONT USE SOAP. Just go in luke warm water and rinse the bronzer off. wait 24 hours before a real shower. Even after the first rinse you WILL think “dang it washed off!” But just wait.. the tan continues to develop for 24 hours. I woke up much darker than I went to bed. I am extremely fair skinned with red tints, and this product didn’t make me orange at all. It’s a nice golden color. Perhaps the best part of this product is it doesn’t smell at all. TRULY. The ONLY reason I didn’t give this 5 stars is because it does remain feeling sticky until your first rinse. Luckily it’s only a few hours and for all the other pros I can live with that. But if it weren’t for the stickiness I would rate this a 5 star product.
