Update! They do turn yellow after about 6 months to a year later
Update - i am writing this about 18 months later (2020 from 2018). My updates are:- (pictures arent uploading, i am going to try this again once my update posts on Amazon) Please see my pictures - one is new compared to old and other shows the difference of white compared to my white vinyl deck railing and white vinyl fence. As funky as it sounds there is a lot of differences of white colors in terms of the actual product and also the difference of white colors in the light itself. Hope this helps! Been waiting to update this review since fall 2018!!!! lol!!!!- They do turn yellow after 6-12 months- When they are new, the actual color is very white - it is too white for the white normal vinyl i have for my deck and my white. Then we they fade, its too light of white and more yellow so it will never match lol but i guess that OK.- But the actual solar lights still work so if you dont care about the fading or if they are far away for you to see then it should be OK as the lights still work great- The on/off switch is inside the light which is wicked annoying as the top cover is tough to put back on which leads me to my next point- When you take off the top cover to turn on/off or even change the battery (havent done that yet fortunately) it is very difficult to get all four sides to securely get back on. I had an issue with many of the covers- It is a normal white light not blue hue/tint (or however they say it) like a cool white or a warm yellow this is in the middle which exactly what i like.- These are brighter than other solar cap lights. I just bought almost identical looking lights from another company (Natures Solar lights via Google) and these lights are brighter. That company has better quality products but those lights are not as bright and has that blue-ish look if you prefer that instead-----------------------------------Love these! Had for about a month and they look really sharp- ****When i first put them up, none worked, you have to unscrew the bottom and turn them on. Don't make the same mistake i did! lol and also the screws dont even really hold it together, they more like pop back together.- I looked everywhere for "cool" color white color lights and these are pretty bright- I believe they have a couple of different styles of these lights, one with the solar panels on the side and this one on the top, you want one with bigger panels even though it may not look as modern because on the sides you cant notice as much but who really cares and these hold a charge for atleast a couple of hours and they go on every night unless its rainy- I re-did my own deck with expanse white vinyl railings and this was the perfect touch. However, these are bright white and my railings are like a normal white so the whites are too different- I did read a good amount of reviews about them turning yellow and i even called the company they said you "all plastic turns yellow in the sun" and you could paint them white if you want, where i am not sure i believe that about the plastic turning yellow part but i have had these for about a month and still same white but it is the fall now not the summer anymore.

I sure was glad to find this company was still making these lights
I purchased a set of these over 8 years ago. The old ones were still working and would probably last years more but I noticed the plastic had started cracking from exposure (which allowed water to leak inside) so I decided to replace them with new ones. The old ones were atop posts in the middle of a wide pasture and marked the end of our driveway. They were covered with green algae, the clear lens had gone cloudy but they still were visible from 1/4 mile away! The batteries lasted five years (Energizer rechargeable) in them and I only replaced them once. When I started shopping for a new set, I sure was glad to find this company was still making these lights. These new ones are brighter and nicer than the old set and easier to install. The old ones had to be caulked/adhered to the top of your posts but these screw in. Yay! If these last anywhere near as long as the old ones I will be one happy gal.

Working beautifully so far
Though I purchased these over a month ago, I just recently installed them. And unlike some of the other reviewers, all mine worked after a very sunny day. They emit a fairly bright but cool white color and look good on my posts. They fit exactly as promised and were very easy to install. The light lasted at least 7 hours, but this would depend upon the ammount of sunlight for that day. On cloudy/rainy days, they do not go on at all as I would anticipate. My one concern aand the reason I took away one star, is that they are not waterproof. My lights collect water after it rains and it is too early to see if this will affect their functioning. They do not fill up, but every light did have some water inside it. If so, I will amend my review.

Very nice lights
Like the lights in general. Easy to install, bright, but not overpowering. With a full day of sun they will remain lit till early morning. They seem to have an average life of approximately 3-5 years, even with battery replacement. Like this design best of all. Have had them on fence since 2017. Several replaced during those 5 years, but year-round lighting so not bad.

DO NOT PURCHASE.
We purchased 12 of these lights. Within the first week 2 of them broke. We called the company and they replaced them. By the time we got the replacement lights more lights broke. We called the company again my husband told them that water was seeping into the light which cause the lights to burn out! They company replied back telling my husband he should waterproof the lights. If he did that there would be no way to change the batteries. The lights were unless. During this time frame more lights broke. The company told us we can purchase more lights at their cost. Why would I repurchase a defective product. It is now November and we have been going back and forth since July. I requested a full refund and was denied. So much for the A-Z guarantee! I am disgusted with the way this whole thing was handled. Amazon did not back me up. As of today we have 2 lights that go on but are flickering. We paid one $200 for these lights. The didn't even work for a week. Do throw your money away. Lights did not make it through the winter.
This product was used for my deck railings which are low maintenance vinyl. I attached them to the posts in the afternoon and they came on that same night. I didn’t think I would like the color of the lighting which is not soft but has sort of a bluish hue and is not too bright but enough so that you can see in the dark. I gave 4 stars because the color does not match the vinyl-I’m ok with that now. Prep and install was easy (I did not use the screws but saved just in case). Cheaper than big box stores.Update- bought these lights last year and this year I had to replace most of them. I bought the proper replacement batteries which worked in a few of them but didn’t last very long. If the new lights continue to fail I will shop elsewhere because they are too expensive to replace annually.
