Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War Prelude

A good way to get a recap of the MCU, worth it if it's very, very cheap.
I have always seen these Marvel movie preludes at the comic book store, but I never bought any because I figured they would just essentially be cash grabs. But I bought this one because, well I'll be honest, the kindle edition was dirt cheap at $0.99, and Infinity War is a bit of a special circumstance, so I figured I'd give it try. This is basically split into two parts, the first part being the actual issues that tie into the MCU, and the second half which contains some past comics about Thanos. The tie-in to Infinity War is the whole reason anyone would buy this collection, and it wasn't great, it's basically a previously on segment. The first issue copies the entire end of Civil War including the mid and end credit scenes, with only a few new inclusions, most notably more stuff about Black Panther, I did really like how T'Challa's sister was included though, that was one of my favorite parts of this comic. And the second issue just info dumps the locations of the infinity stones from every other Marvel movie. So I guess if you haven't watched most of the MCU movies in a while and don't want to re-watch some 11 out of 18 movies to get all the relevant information, this would probably be a somewhat helpful shortcut, but that's not really enough to carry this comic to being something that people really need to buy. The other two issues are the first issue of “Infinity” one of, if not the most recent “Thanos is attempting to conquer the universe big team up events” and a far more interesting annual issue from a recent time when Thanos had his own title. The Infinity issue was okay, I was actually somewhat interested in what would have happened next, but that is a read for another day. The annual issue goes into a lot of background on Thanos' history within the Marvel universe, all within the context of a future version of Thanos coming to talk to a past version of himself. I thought that was kind of cool and several past events from a lot of the big Infinity titles are covered, and I actually really liked this issue, it gives a good amount of background to the character and it would probably be a good read for people who don't really know much about the character.Overall this was a semi-decent comic, there were some good enjoyable moments, but really unless you get an amazing deal on it, like I said $0.99, there isn't a whole lot of value to this, and unless you get it specifically for the recap of the MCU until this point, and more background for Thanos, it doesn't add anything worth much more than that.

"Fun isn't something one considers when balancing the universe!"
Got my package today and though the content is not providing something new, but this is a good pickup for preparation in the upcoming weeks for the movie itself. The First two issue in the book consists of recap from several MCU movies from Civil War, The First Avenger, Doctor Strange, and Guardians of the Galaxy. The key important plot which will directly leads into upcoming Infinity War.The next issue is Infinity #1, the Marvel event from several years ago written by Jonathan Hickman..although to understand this complete story, you have to pick up several titles (like New Avengers and Avengers series which written also by Hickman), but this particular event introduced The Black Order, Thanos's henchman (who will appear in the movie). The last issue is Thanos annual which written by Jim Starlin, the master of Marvel cosmic adventures.Last but not least, this book is good enough to give you more hype for Infinity War movie itself, but just like I mentioned, the content is not giving any real meaningful and new information for the plot itself. There are no new information that most of MCU fans don't already know. Instead, for those who only follow the movie but not the comic, and wants to know more of Thanos, I recommend Infinity Gauntlet TPB by Jim Starlin and George Perez. Those book covered most anything you want to know about Thanos and his motivations.OVERALL, I gave this book 4 out of 5 stars (mostly just for the hype for the upcoming movie)

My 1st MCU Prelude Series
I LOVE these Preludes and can't wait to buy more in the future. I have just recently gotten into MCU and look forward to reading more Preludes in the future. What I liked about this particular book was, how previous movies are connected to the entire storyline. So the storyline feels continuous vs fragmented when seeing the movies. The movies fantastic, but they often times do not go back to previous movies to add to the story.I also bought a used copy after a friend suggested I buy used books, as a college student I always bought my books used (that's where the REAL savings are!). Never would have thought about it for pleasure reading books. Used books provide the buyer with better value vs buying brand new. My book arrived in perfect condition.

Don't have time to watch the last 10 years of the MCU before Infinity War? Need a catchup / rundown for what's coming? Look no further. Two comics to get everyone up to speed. I bought this for my fiancé, since I wouldn't be able to get her to watch the last 10 years worth of films, but 15 minutes reading a comic, who can't do that?

It's a comic book, digital and authentic.
It's an electronic title, but authentic. Money goes to Marvel, so they can make their movies faster. If you believe in rewarding hard work of those who make Marvel stuff, it's time to pay your dues.

Avengers: Infinity War Prelude Comic Review
This comic is amazing. I love reading this comic to find out exactly what happens to the Avengers before the movie and I recommend you to get the comic and read it before the movie comes out so you get what is going on. Can't wait to see the movie.

Ultimate recap
Lots of recaps of previous MCU stories, probably only the Thanos and Black Order introductions are of huge interest for movie fans.
