This is our second attempt at a counter top ice maker for our ice chomping family of four. During the summer we go through more ice than the ice maker in our fridge can produce, so we bought this unit expecting to just use it part of the year. Now, we use this ice almost exclusively and hardly touch the ice made by the fridge. It is durable and easy to clean, though it is a bit noisy. I can hear it running at night from our bedroom which is about 20 feet from the kitchen and I can easily hear when fresh is dumped into the bin. It’s loud enough to be noticeable, but not distracting enough to stop using it. Our previous ice maker starting making a horrible squeal after a few weeks and then died completely. The cleaning cycle on this unit is much easier, so we do it as scheduled, and I think that makes all the difference in the reliability.

Very large capacity and quick to produce ice. This is great for parties, family gatherings and summer poolside events. It's good looking and makes Lucious ice !!

Never thought this would work so well, after losing faith in Chinese brands, this one made me smile.

I didn't know it was going to be this gigantic. My spouse bought one for $80 which was a Frigidaire brand at Walmart. It makes little tiny bullet cubes they melt really quickly and it's messy. All right this one for almost less than half the price and it makes tons of ice cubes and they don't melt while it's still making ice cubes, so far it's doing great! I've only had it for 3 weeks now but so far I love it. It's easy to use, it cleans easily, the ice is great, use filtered spring water it's the best.. I have actually sat the ice maker on the vanity in my bedroom. At this point I made a really good decision by buying this from Amazon. I don't even use the ice maker in my refrigerator/freezer anymore!!

It was a great machine. As far as the motor and compressor running, it was very quiet. It had a little noise when each batch of ice cubes were made and dropped into the bin, but that's not that loud, just the first layer as they hit the bin because after new ice cubes fall onto the first ice cube layer, the sound diminishes significantly. It makes more ice than most of the available countertop ice machines out there. It is a little larger than most of them but I like it. It looks exactly like an ice machine you'd see in a hotel or restaurant kitchen but it's just the mini version. This ice maker is really a hard worker. It makes the cubes either large or small depending on your settings and it is very speedy. I think it is 9 ice cubes every 6 minutes! It's very easy to use. You simply pour water into the reservoir up to the max line and put the basket in and press start. It will continue to make the ice until the bin is full and then the red light goes on. You don't have to take the bin out right away, it will keep the ice from melting quite a few hours while it just sits there. I have used this little powerhouse every single day for a year, making one to two gallon containers of ice each day. I make smoothies, tea, fruit drinks, etc. The bullet style ice is easy to grind to make drinks with a blender, like my Magic Bullet for example. I have never had any problems with it, no leaking, no overheating, nothing. I am sad to say that I have had it EXACTLY 12 months to this day with no problems but today, the red "no water" light came on (though the reservoir is full) as I was trying to make a gallon of cubes. I tried to start the machine over a couple of times but the red light came on every time after about one minute. It isn't an issue of being dirty because I have thoroughly cleaned the machine using it's cleaning cycle just two months ago. I will say that though the company claims that this machine should last at least 5 years without problems, obviously it didn't make it that long. I am still giving it 4 stars because it really is a good product but I don't plan on paying some "expert" to fix it and probably doesn't really know anything about it to tinker with it and charge me $100 or so because I got it at an amazingly low price here on Amazon. They have discontinued the product within about two months after I made my purchase and though I have checked the VEVOR website for help and they have a picture of the exact SLIM01B model countertop machine on their help page, they don't have a single piece of information about their product. They basically say, buy a new one! The very fact that you can't order it anymore gives me pause. Had it been less than a year, I would have had a fit about it. I am blessed by the Lord to have a backup model from a different manufacturer but it doesn't make as much ice as the VEVOR one. I mean, my new model is just as fast but the reservoir and basket are smaller so I have to fill it twice as much to get the same amount of ice. Ok, I will say it again: the fact that this little machine made ice nearly every single day for an entire year (even though they claim it will go for five) and was very low cost says a lot. It was perfect while it lasted. I would purchase from them again if their other products hold up this well.

I bought this about a year ago and it still works like brand new. I use it daily at work at my desk. if I could find it for the same price I paid last year I would buy another.

Machine stopped working , explained I would like the refund to my Amazon account because the card that I purchased it on I no longer have . They are refusing to refund to my Amazon account so now I a broken ice machine and no refund . Worst experience!! Will never buy from them again .

The first ice maker I bought was an Insignia ice maker from Best Buy that looks almost identical to this one. After it broke down about 3 years later I took a chance on this one. What a huge difference! Not only does this make more ice and make it faster, the ice cubes are slightly larger as well. Also the unit is better insulated which means my ice isn't melting nearly as quickly as it was in the Insignia model. This is been a big plus for the family as we have about five or six of us that are constantly grabbing ice. Insignia had a hard time keeping up with the family ice consumption, whereas with this one I have to stop making ice because it's already made so much! So far, after just the few weeks that we've had it, it has been great! Not to mention the fact that it was about $50 cheaper than the inferior Insignia model!

Keeps ice cold, good size for 25lb bags. Holds probably 30lbs total. Only complaints are the hinges started rusting on the surface (indoor use only) and the drain attachment that comes with is not great. Ended up choosing to keep the plug in and soak up liquid with a cloth instead of using the drain to empty liquid. The hinges could probably be replaced pretty easily though so not too worried about it. Would be really nice to have soft closing hinges so I might try that for the replacement hinges
