Lovely shirt! True to size, light, and looks very Victorian
First note, this is a lovely shirt, it's seems very well made. The material is light and feels like natural linen. Note it is slightly sheer, so some kind of slip (or at least a skin tone bra) are recommended. It is actually true to size - if unsure, I'd recommend going with the smaller range of your usual size. The XL is true US XL - 2XL is an actual 2XL.I'm sure I'm not alone as someone who often orders an XL and then is faced with it still being too tight somewhere. For me it is the waist or upper arms usually that are too tight and the rest fits. I'm normally a US size 16 on top and a US 16/18 on the bottom. I am around 5ft 8in. I'd actually ordered two of this shirt, one in XL and one in 2XL. I bought one in red in 2XL before and it seemed too large, but I was otherwise very pleased with it, so I thought I'd order cream in both sizes, and return whichever one didn't fit as well this time. (I washed the red shirt so there was no returning that one!). The XL fit was similar to the XXL, as in there was still plenty of room to move, but the shoulders and sleeves definitely fit better in XL for me, and there was more of a "poof" at the shoulders. I was pleasantly surprised to see that there was still plenty of room in the waist, bust, and upper arms with the XL, where I often run into fit issues with most shirts. I could sit comfortably in the XL without it becoming skin tight around the waist. The cloth covered buttons were also really beautiful, and the little bit of frill at the sleeve and collar was a really nice touch. My Little House on the Prairie and history-nerd side was very happy! Is it 100% historically accurate? Probably not. Is it a nice quality shirt, with a very Victorian feel? Absolutely!

Comfy and quality
Great quality and a comfortable shirt. Definitely recommend. True to size.

Large in the waist
It fit fine in the bust but it felt a bit baggy in the waist (39 bust, 30 waist, 41 hips). However, paired with a high waisted skirt it would do fine. The fabric is high quality and quite breathable. It does wrinkle easily though.

This blouse looks great because of the fabric. It lays beautiful on your body
This blouse is like jeans. You can dress it up or casual with style.

Perfect under a bodice or corset
This shirt fits through the shoulders beautifully and then releases at bust line for variable fit. Natural fabric lends authenticity and the high neck is just low enough to still lengthen the neck. One button did pop off too easily on the cuff but that’s an easy fix (and can easily happen during manufacture). I tried a bunch of different options and this was the most time-period-appropriate and the easiest to style as needed for a better fit.I am 5’4”, busty with a fit hourglass figure.

Perfect period blouse!
Wore this to be Eudoria Holmes with my daughter who was dressed up as Enola Holmes for Halloween. I had to wear a shirt underneath as it's fairly sheer. It is comfortable and high quality for the price. I love the high collar and buttons on the sleeves!

A little big, but cute top
This is such a cute top, I really like the Victorian style of it. I wish I would have gotten a size smaller, the XL was just a little too big for me to still see the nice details of this shirt. The shirt itself is very lightweight, I was expecting something a little heavier. It almost has a linen feel to it, it’s quite sheer and wrinkles easily. The little ruffles at the cuffs and collar are cute, and I love the round, fabric covered buttons.I wish the shirt was a little more structured, so the sleeves could puff up a little higher in the shoulders and the body of the shirt wasn’t so blousy.

feminine blouse with graceful neckline
I needed a very feminine looking blouse. This blouse is sheer and has covered buttons at the neckline and 3 at the ruffled cuff. The size fit well on the full bust of actress.
