Jill Parrish (Amanda Seyfried) comes home from working the night shift to discover that her sister Molly has suddenly disappeared. Convinced that Molly has been abducted by the same serial killer from whom she escaped just a year before, and that by sundown Molly will be dead, Jill embarks on a break-neck ride to rescue her. Racing the sinking sun in a heart-pounding chase, Jill has only 12 hours to find the killer and save her sister.

I'm not a fan of horror movies
But this is a very clever storyline, and I thoroughly enjoyed it, good cast and brilliant from start to finish, definitely recommend

Gone.
This was panned when it came out and the basic no-frills release on DVD reflects that negative response. It's a fairly daft premise, but if one is prepared to suspend one's disbelief and just go along with it, it's a reasonably entertaining thriller; there's a lot of happen-stance and plot holes, but Seyfried is a good leading actress, ably supported by a decent cast and the film itself is actually a very beautifully filmed piece of work – just a shame a more believable script didn't underpin things. As an entertainment it isn't bad – it is vaguely in the track-down-a-serial-killer, race-against-time (and unhelpful authority) category so it isn't stuck for clichés, but it's fine brain in neutral fodder for a late-night viewing.English subtitles are available should one require them, but there are no extras.3 ½ stars, ideally.

“It’s all in your head…” [Detective]
A year after allegedly being abducted and escaping from a serial killer, edgy Jillian "Jill" Conway (Amanda Seyfried) now works as a waitress on the graveyard shift. Returning home Jill discovers her studious sister Molly is missing, and is convinced the serial killer who took her has now taken Molly. The police show little interest as Jill has a long history with psychiatric hospitals and even Molly’ boyfriend doesn’t believe her, so can Jill solve the case before time runs out? With some nice scenery and a good sound this manages to hold the attention and is quite good a making you wonder who’s right, the police for not believing her, or Jill who’s convinced she was abducted. It takes about 15 minutes to get to the main plot but it really starts to become gripping just before the halfway point. The single disc offers play, scene selection, previews and set up [audio is 5.1 only, subtitles English SHD on/off] but selection is a confusing. Rated 15, this has some infrequent swearing but lacks sex and nudity [being implied or silhouette]. Avoiding the slasher gore and the late night ‘adult’ approach this remains highly entertaining relying heavily on the question of doubt and has the same sort of feel to it as ‘Taken’, both being ‘against the odds’ films. Not the best of it’s genre, but it is entertaining.

Good thriller
Amanda Seyfreid is great in the role of Jill who lives with her sister in Portland, Oregon. One morning she finds her sister is missing after getting home after night shift. Jill was abducted a year ago and she believes the guy is back again, and this time has taken her sister. She goes to make a report at the police station but the problem is that there was no actual evidence that she was ever abducted, and the police are sceptical about her sister being missing. Jill decides that she is the only one who can find her sister, but is it all in her head? What follows is a decent thriller story, that defies predictions, as Jill follows one lead after another. Meanwhile the police are chasing after her! Will she get caught before discovering the truth?4 stars 5/8/15

No, she isn't a neurotic mess!
This is very exciting. It is not a very nice story, most of the locations are pretty grim and Amanda Seyfield plays a not very nice character. She spends an awful lot of the time on her own - and does she do it well. It is an unpleasant psychological thriller with many twists and turns and the truth is not revealed until the last couple of minutes. I always think of Amanda Seyfield. as being very glamorous and here she is playing against type and certainly shows she has a great talent as a serious actress. The rest of the cast? Well they are O.K. but completely overshadowed by her - and the camerawork? A little too busy for me. I felt the story would have been better told if the camera had been stiller and let the action happen within the shots instead of moving rather too much. Nevertheless a very good find and very good value for money.

GONE DVD (AMANDA SEYFRIED)
The DVD is good quality. Wide screen (bars top and bottom), good sound, picture and optional English subtitles. No extras. Some strong One star reviews, but whilst the script is way off in many places, and I am not too sure about Ms Seyfried's casting (good actress as she is), there is some real tension and interesting, mostly wasted, casting. Interesting to Jennifer Carpenter (Dexter), Emily Wickersham (NCIS), Nick Searcy (Justified as the sheriff), Joel David Moore (Bones, as one of her regular "students"), and Michael Pare, who surely deserved a bigger role?? 91 mins passes quickly. 3 stars because the plot is silly in places, and logic tends to go out the window, but I truly have seen much worse. and it's a fair price. Worth a go.

like suspense thrillers
UnderRated film UnderRated Actress.Didn't know what to expect, like suspense thrillers. I think many write Amanda off because she is pretty, I don't go into the story because the killer is .. The story is good. The reason this movie is underrated is because Morgan Freeman or some main stream name is not in it, that's it. I've watched it twice and will watch many more times. All I can say is Amanda Seyfried is an under used gem of an actress, I wish Hollywood would make more use of her.Lets say I think Amanda proves she's an A-class star. If they ever make a 'Salt' 2

Worth a watch
I enjoyed this Thriller. Kept me guessing until the end. Kept me thinking and kept my attention all the way through. A few twists and turns along the way. I have seen better Thrillers, but this is well worth a watch. Can't go wrong with Jennifer Carpenter.
