It works fine, fit for purpose - which is the essential bit
In my usage, can't complain - fit for purpose on the VHF/UHF sets I've used it with (using 0.5W through 25W) and I can't recall any undue hums or temperature climbs even on my rate 2M/70cm contest stints on the FT818 (not yet tested on HF where I usually use a very overkill ex-Pye PSU originally designed in pairs to use two mobiles to drive a 50W VHF linear in commercial field repeater usage). So as far as tested, no complaints and a healthy discount over 'radio market' SM items with barely fit for purpose tunable filters cludge. As for mentions in reviews regarding quality control, I've had bargain bucket manufactured examples with inherent bad QC flaws as well as much pricer ones, so I expect the odd example of any SM PSU to need say terminated posts to need resoldering, but as long as it's not the regulation switching circuits being faulty, I can live with five minute fixes/improvement mods - of which this Mercury unit needed none so far.At least it don't cause RCD master switches to cut off, which has happened on some cheapies I bought (cheap ones destined to drive LED chains).

Not suitable for a CB.
This is a 20amp. A cb needs maximum 4amp. It causes so much interference the cb wont operate AT ALL ! Do not buy if you want to power a cb.
