Full Brick Black Tea

You can tell its black tea but it has a slightly 'exotic' winey and bitter taste that comes off perfectly with cream and sugar, especially coconut sugar and other less refined sweeteners. Not actually as bitter as loose leaf or teabag black it steeps long on the stove to a yellow-orange brown. Its a challenge to chip off a piece without a sharp knife and small hammer but this is a fun part of the ritual and mystique for me. A premium tea at a good price considering cups per block.

Beautiful tea brick. Bought it for my wife. She won't use the tea because it is too pretty. Has it on display.

This tea was better than I thought it would be. I wanted to try it for the novelty of the form factor, I had never had brick tea before. But yeah it's not bad at all. It's a little hard to break off the block, but once you have a piece it falls apart immediately in the hot water.I used a pour-in French press to brew filter out the tea leaves. Worked great.Now I kind of want to try it with yak butter, Tibetan style.

After having seen a brick of tea displayed at some historic site, I looked for this item for years, and was happy to find it, finally. The tea brick arrived safely and was well-packaged, and it included a sample of loose tea--a nice surprise. We are displaying the brick, and hope that our friend will translate the Chinese on the tea brick. I highly recommend the seller and will return to them for other items in the future. Will I ever use the brick to make tea? No, I enjoy the pretty picture and the history behind the item too much to destroy it.
