Do exactly as they should make the water crystal clear. Although, be advised they will significantly drop the flow rate of your fx6 very quickly! I have to clean mine every two weeks!

If you have the FX6 filter then buy these polishing pads, they filter out fine particles so you have crystal clear water. And theyre cheap

This is a great product for removing very fine particles .It is basically filter wool cut circular to fit in the fx5 trays.I would advise just buying a roll of filter wool and cutting it yourself, as it would be better value but it does as described and i cant fault it. great product.

These are ok however they do get clogged up very quickly depending on how heavily stocked your tank is. I had to change the pad after less than a month on the first run and then decided to run an internal filter with some filter wool within to act as a fine polisher, this works well for me and allows me to change the filter wool frequently without disassembling my external canister filter. I suppose if you don't mind regularly disassembling your external canister filter for small maintenance like replacing this bad then it would be a very good purchase.
