This is the perfect beach hat for the summer! It has so much coverage and is flattering on the head. I really love the asymmetrical detail that makes it different and unique. Super cute! I recommend!!

I love everything about this hat except there is no way to tighten the head band on it. I have a small head and most every hat or cap I purchase falls over my ears. This is no exception. I had hoped it might fit better than some of the other hats I have ordered; maybe washing it will cause a little shrinkage. Just needs something to help cinch it tighter to the head so that it is not always falling in my eyes. The oblong shape is quite unique and can be worn with the wider brim on either front or back. I seem to always end up with a sun burned neck as my hat doesn't cover it at all times. This should prevent that.UPDATE July 2024I came back to Amazon to purchase another of these as I love this hat! I had not realized it had a headband adjustment under the sweatband and this really helps with keeping it out of my eyes! I have washed it for the first time; hand wash cool water, mild detergent; reshaped and air dried. No shrinkage. What makes this hat so unique is that it has a thin wire around the entire brim of the hat, making it so you can gently bend up the front for better vision. I have had no issues at all with the hat and am just heart broken it is no longer available. Seller, please put it back on Amazon! I have even adapted to the fact that I have to tie it under my chin to keep it from blowing off in the high winds. I have looked for something comparable but there isn't anything like this on Amazon that I could find. I have very fair skin and the shape of the brim being longer in back has kept my neck, my ears, and my face from being burnt out in the desert sun. The hat does not make me hot like some of the others I have. I am begging you! Please make it available again!!

I put on sunscreen every day even when I'm not planning to be outside but I am lazy about reapplying as the day wears on.Since I started wearing hats anytime I walk the dog or go outside, my skin has been in much better shape. I was getting tanned even with sunscreen, and that means UV rays were still getting me.Most hats, such as baseball and short brimmed hats are useless because the sides of my face still get sun.This hat is longer on one side, and you can either wear the longer side in front or back, depending on which way the sun is attacking you.It's breathable, the edge of the brim has some sort of flexible material to adjust it as you like and it has a neck strap in case of wind. It puts shade on your entire head, all the way around.I usually don't wear neck straps under my neck. I tie them behind my hair to help keep the hat on.I like the way it looks on me, its a neutral real khaki color that goes with most things. Also great for introverts. If you look down, no one will be able to make eye contact or even see your face. Sometimes, I just want to be left with my thoughts.I have a similar hat that has an even brim all the way around and I like this design better because of it's versatility and ability to protect my neck without one of those curtains hanging behind your head.And this packs easily since it's fabric rather straw. I'll probably get another one to keep in my car.If you feel awkward in large hats, this is probably not for you. But if you are serious about sun protection and protecting your skin from wrinkles and sun damage, this is a great choice.

This is a great sun hat. I burn very easily and I am wearing a hat almost anytime I am outdoors. I like to have several styles to to choose from, so I'm always looking out for something great to add to my collection. I buy several new ones every summer and this one is my favorite of the season, so far. I prefer something with a wide brim, and as I already have a couple of floppy-brimmed straw hats, this cotton hat seemed perfect. The only problem was choosing between the black and the ash (light tan), as they will both go with just about anything. I ended up with the black and it is wonderful. It is well-made, versatile and very practical. I really like the cotton fabric, which is of very high quality. It looks beautiful and feels substantial without being too heavy. The crown is a single layer, but the fabric is definitely thick and densely woven enough to provide full protection from sun shining through. The brim is double-layered and very effective at shading my face. I like the design with the asymmetrical brim, so I can wear the wider part in front or in back to protect either my face or neck/shoulders. The brim is wired so I can shape the hat for the most flattering look, and it stays put. I can also just adjust the degree of upturn, depending on time of day or activity. I wear a size S in hats and have a hard time finding cute ones that aren't too big on me. But this one fits me very well (there is a sturdy, flat ribbon hidden in the inner hat band that makes it easy to adjust). I like the sewn-in chin straps so my beautiful new hat doesn't go sailing off in the breeze at the beach. They are sturdy and I just tuck them under my hair when I don't need them. The hat is very well designed and the construction is top notch. It is very comfortable to wear and I think it looks charming, too. I think it is well worth the cost, and I'll probably end up buying the ash one as well. I'd like to see other colors, as well.

Where I live, the summer sun can be brutal. It’s easy for my neck to burn when I take my morning walk or go hiking someplace. I tried a polyester hat with a flap that hung down to cover my neck, but it didn’t “breathe” enough for me. I decided a cotton hat with a wide brim was the better way to go.While I love that this is 100% cotton and much more breathable, this hat is shapeless. The top part hangs down too low—almost to my eyes—and the brim has to be folded up in front for me to see where I am going. My husband says I look like a cross between “The Old Man of the Sea” and “Paddington Bear” when I wear this thing! I was also surprised that the strings didn’t come with an adjustable slider like on jackets and other hats I have. When you wear a hat like this in the wind, you need something that is going to hold your hat in place better than a bow or a knot that might get stuck.Finally, as ill-fitting and unattractive as this hat is, I would never pay more than $20 for it. Yet this is going for over twice that much at the time of this review! It keeps the sun off your neck and doesn’t make you sweat as much as a synthetic hat would, but you may want to watch for a sale.
