Electric Quilt 7 for Mac

I must admit I am still getting my head around this programme, but so far so good. There is an awful lot to learn and I would suggest that the PDF lessons are a must. I have had a play at making some quilt designs of my own, and while they are not bad, I don't think I will be using any of my stash on them just yet - more an issue of my design ability than any fault with the programme. I am just enjoying being able to play and mix things up a bit at the moment. I have however managed to add some of my own fabrics to the fabric library which I think will be invaluable once I do get around to a serious attempt at designing a pattern I want to make. If you suffer from a lack of creative ability (which is my problem) this programme definitely gives you enough to choose from to help inspire you. I have been messing around picking blocks at random and putting them together to see what I get - and if I don't like it I just don't save it and I haven't waisted my fabric or time making something that will be relegated to the bottom of the scraps box, which is what has happened previously. So a potential money saver as well.

Have had this for some time now but don't use it all that often so am still learning my way round it. However so far I'm very impressed with what it can do. You can scan in your own fabrics so for me it is great for visualising what a series of blocks will look like using them. I have used blocks from the library and also created my own designs. From the website you can also download fabric pictures to add to the fabric library and maybe other block designs though I have not looked to do so yet. The user manual (246 pages) is clear and helpful. What I do is print the page I need so gradually I'm building up a hard copy for future reference. If you are not sure about getting this programme then perhaps looking at their website will help you decide.

Excellent and logical to use - have been waiting for a Mac version and doesn't disappoint.
