MTSCompany TLSU-1 gas tank sending unit - Fits "Under the Seat" tank

For 75 FJ40 stock tank.This is EXACTLY THE KIND OF AFTERMARKET PART I HATE. First, and most irritating, what's pictured is not what arrives. What you get is a sender with a nut terminal on top instead of the OE-type spade connector, so you either have to cut your stock connector off and crimp on a ring terminal or make some kind of jumper adapter. I made an adapter to keep the stock harness intact.Secondly, the holes in the sender do not quite line up so you have to enlarge. The cork gasket that comes with it didn't line up at all, so I threw it away and re-used the 40-year-old Toyota gasket.Do yourself a favor: spend the extra $25 and buy the OE Toyota unit. Better. Perfect fit. Save an hour of your life. If you don't have the extra $25, then this unit will work, it's just a PITA. Since my fuel gauge had not worked for a long time, and I just installed this sender, I can not yet comment on its accuracy... But I suspect this sender unit is made to the spec's of this company's aftermarket poly tanks which are not, probably, the same as the OE tank. And, to mention, you have to find something to cover the terminal lead, or you've got a live +12v sitting in the open, just asking for wrench or other metal object to hit it and cause a short.I would have sent this back, but it's from a 3rd party vendor and I just didn't have time.
