Replaced the original factory fan clutch in my 1997 Land Cruiser with this and huge difference in engine temps and air conditioning temperatures in 100+ degree days. No brainer replacement

Seems wrong to immediately take apart a new fan clutch to tweak it. But I adjusted the clutch to kick in earlier and changed the fluid to 15k weight (ASSOCIATED 5447 FT Silicone Diff Fluid 15,000cST,White ). Works great and because this is the famous blue shaft clutch, I'll never need another one. Just replace the fluid if it becomes weak.

This is the 'Blue Hub' fan clutch. Perfect for my 1997 Land Cruiser. I used it (unmodified) for a couple of years before I noticed a decrease in performance. I live in a very hot climate (Texas) so I drained the OEM Silicone Fluid and replaced with 20K Silicone Fluid. NOW WE'RE TALKING! Much improved cooling at low speeds. Really helps not only with engine cooling, but also pulling air across the A/C condenser which results in cooler vent temps when in traffic (low speed). Great value, rebuild-able (provided your bearing is still good and you don't mess up the sealing ring taking it apart).

This is the fan clutch you need. Then you just need to get on Mud and learn how to modify it with a little heavier fluid and have it open a bit earlier and your overheating concerns should be gone (provided the rest of your cooling system is working correctly).

Flange mount is slightly longer than the 3FE clutch (3/4”) but the 3FE clutch costs twice as much. I rolled the dice and bought this and ended up working with w CFS2709 radiator. To be clear I have a FJ80 and this is made for the FZJ80. Everything works well so far.

Perfect fit and same as factory OEM. Aisin was the original supplier for the FZJ80 Land Cruisers. The only difference is that these come with the "TOYOTA" ground flat and an AISIN logo placed nearby. Be sure to find replacement nuts because removing the factory nuts is a pain in the butt. They are very soft and prone to rounding over. Use a six point wrench and you'll have a better experience. This is a high quality fan clutch for sure.
