Attention! Coyote tested.
I was looking for something to deter my dog from some annoying behavior, and I didn't want to spend $20 for a can of air. The price was right and it sounded plausible, if not completely promising. I thought it was worth a try. Forget the instructions, they are written by someone whose first language is something other than English, and while not totally informative, are highly amusing. ("Attention: Do not irritate dog very often when they already stay quiet or in noisy environment. When the dog bark or attempt to attack you, the effect of ultrasonic training device is best."--I'm not sure how you get the dog to attack you, but you might want to try it with barking first.) It requires a 9 volt battery, and will double as a flashlight. I'm not exactly sure why, but it's handy if you're stuck in the dark I suppose. The device is bright yellow and has 3 settings, which are difficult to see because they are molded into the plastic. The top one is just the flashlight, the middle one is a picture of a dog standing/dancing on it's hind legs. Maybe that's for training? The third setting is a dog lying on it's side, what I call 'dead dog' mode. I use that one when I mean business. And, oddly, it seems to work. I started in 'standing/dancing dog' mode and my dog definitely reacts to it, it gets his attention and he'll usually stop what he's doing, at least temporarily. He may return to the behavior if it's something he truly enjoys, like playing tug of war with the leash, and I'll hit it again. That's usually enough. If he's being especially stubborn, or if I think the behavior might hurt someone (jumping on them in greeting), I'll resort to 'dead dog mode' and that will usually do the trick. He stops. I've even used it at the dog park when a group of dogs were getting out of hand, and after hitting the 'dead dog mode' button, they stopped. I've even tried it, in 'standing dog' mode when some dog is barking at us when we walk by. It stopped. Now, most of the time, just seeing me pull the device out of my pocket is enough to get my dog to stop whatever annoying thing he's doing. And I threaten him with 'dead dog' mode if he doesn't straighten up. The bottom line is that this crazy thing actually works, at least on my stubborn boy. I try to use it sparingly because I don't want to quash his joy, just keep him from doing things that can cause damage or injury. (the leash pulling is hell on my elbow!) I don't know how long it lasts, but I've not drained a battery yet. And the flashlight is useful as it lights every time you push the button, so the dog thinks he may get blasted when he sees the light and that's enough to stop the behavior. I can't claim it works every time, but it works enough of the time for it to be worthwhile. If it works on coyotes, I'll let you know. Addendum: This morning I had an encounter with a coyote as I was walking my dog, the coyote was in the bushes about 50 yards away, with eyes on me, another dog walker, and our dogs. I pulled out my trusty Frienda zapper, pointed it at the coyote set on 'dead dog' mode, pushed the button and the coyote bolted immediately. So, I think I'll up my review to 5 stars. Anything that deters a coyote is my best friend.

Worst product ever!
What arrived is not what I ordered. It physically looked he same but the Amazon online description is way different than what the device does. What I got- a short orange colored flashlight. The instruction sheet is entirely in another language, Chinese? I don’t know- could be sanscrit for all I know. had to get a magnifying glass out to see them, no joke the font is so small, I did find some English words “dog kind feed energy”. I have no idea what that means in terms of how should that train my dog not to bark? The ad says this is a tool to assist in training dogs to bark less or no more, the pictures on box I received are of smiling dogs on grass on a sunny day. Does this device attract more dogs on good weather days? I would not know since I cannot read the foreign language on the box or directions. Giving this 1 star because system won’t let me submit with None. This is a crapola #1 product. Bought because ad said it is a “stop the barking” training tool. Lies! Maybe I’m supposed to try blinding my dogs with it by shining light in their eyes and then they’ll whimper (instead of bark). I could throw it at their faces and put an eye out - that would stop some barking but... I’m not an a-hole. Stupid product. Do not waste time or money unless you want a stubby flashlight for your glove compartment.

It worked, then failed.
For months, we had problems with our neighbors' three dogs which used to bark at us every time we walked outside. Not anymore! This devise stopped them in their tracks! We tell them to be quiet, wait a second and then hit them with this silent, but effective blast. They immediately turn and run away! Lately, they've even stopped barking altogether when we walk on our property. We would highly recommend this cost-effective solution to others with similar barking problems. Update: It stopped working after two months. The light still operates, but the sound stopped completely. We know this because our own dog no longer reacts to the device and he was VERY sensitive to it when it was new and activated even for a split second. I also wear a cochlear implant and could hear the high frequency sound when the device was working. We plan to order this product again because it WAS so effective and relatively inexpensive. We just hope the new one lasts a lot longer than the first.

Not for My Dog
This product functions properly, but unfortunately it didn't work for my 50 lb 6 month old Aussiedoodle. The unit itself is easy to use and understand, you will need a 9 volt battery when it arrives, and I could definitely hear a high pitch frequency when I held it up to my ear so I knew it was working like it should. My coworker says this exact product works wonderfully for recall with her smaller dog, but I'm not sure if maybe the frequency is not right for all dogs. When I pressed the button she had no reaction to it at all. Back to the drawing board. I wouldn't say don't buy this, because I know it works for some, but keep in mind that it may not work for your specific dog.

This works better than anything
Most effective training device. I have used those vibration/sound collars and they are not nearly as effective as this. One touch of the button at the same time I say Quiet! Has stopped them immediately. And now I only have to say Quiet! And they stop barking immediately.

My wife loves it.

Our dog has very sensitive hearing so we didn't want to use anything too traumatic to stop her barking at the window. this has worked perfectly

produit conforme à la publicité. Dommage qu'il emmette un signal lumineux quand il est en action. l'appareil n' est pas efficace au de la de cinq mètres.
