i have dyed my hair pink for years. a couple of months ago i decided to go purple instead because pink fades sooo fast. i have natural level 8 blonde hair that isnt very porous so it doesnt hold color well. i cant bleach it cuz its so fine and breakable already. ive heard some bad things about splat so i was hesitant to try this. IM SO GLAD I DID!! its a beautiful dark pink based purple that fades pretty. for some reason, it fades kinda like an ombre on me, pinky purple on top and bluey purple at the ends (last picture shows it). i shower every other day with color safe shampoo and room temp water. i redye it every 3 weeks and not cuz it looks bad, but cuz of my very light roots that make me look like im balding lol. picture 1 shows freshly dyed, picture 2 and 3 are 3 weeks faded. YES, u WILL turn ur shower purple. and ur skin. and shirt collars. and pillows. every shower u take will make ur hair bleed purple. im used to this, THIS IS JUST WHAT DIRECT HAIR DYE DOES PEOPLE!!!! anyway, if u want a beautiful dark pink based purple that lasts pretty long, get this!!!

I have brown/ gray hair. I ended p with light purple on my gray and dark purple on the brunette. Was easy to use but def have to watch for staining. I will use this product again. No odor and easy to use.

The color is beautiful and was easy to apply. No mixing. Just color and conditioner for after coloring. It's a rich purple and looks like the color chart on the box after coloring. Box doesn't do it justice though. It also looks great with black hair accents. We did chimera style with black on the left side of my daughter's head and the splat on the right. It looks awesome!!

I have been washing my hair for a week. The purple comes out A LOT everytime. All my pillows are stained. My hands are stained. Not a great product

Every time I tell someone that I used Splat to color my hair, I get crazy looks and scoffs. But then I explain what their “new” Midnight line is all about… super duper pigmented semi-permanent dye in a range of dark bright colors for brunettes - unless you want hair that’s practically neon, then you want to bleach and tone your hair first, like I did! Purple is my color so I usually stick to Splat Midnight Tanzanite (NOT Amethyst, which comes out very very blue, weird I know), but then I found this Splat Midnight Plum and got sooo excited to try a subtle variation of my favorite shade! Once again, I mixed the dye with conditioner to stretch the color and lighten it slightly. Then I just plopped and smooshed in the color on dry hair until fully saturated. Then I left it on OVERNIGHT, which I know sounds crazy but this is a VEGAN formula and nothing will happen to your hair except get softer. I like my dye to stay in as long as possible, starting with a dark shade. If you want it to rinse out sooner or start with a lighter shade, rinse it out after the prescribed amount of time. Anyhow, it’s perfect, just slightly more of a dark pink/fuschia tint to a perfect shade of bright purple, whereas Tanzanite IS a bit more of a blue-leaning purple. Love. Thanks Splat.
