Great Pruning Blade for Hedge
I've been using this blade to cut 1-2" branches on my hedge, and it's been doing a fantastic job. It hasn't dulled quickly and makes pruning much easier and faster. The 3-pack offers great value, and the blades are reliable and durable. Highly recommended for anyone needing a solid pruning blade.

Cut through tough wood, and metal blades cut through metal quite well.
Love these blades. I had to remove multiple sweet gum trees from property. Cut through the tough bark, enabled me to get rid of 4 trees so far, along with trunks and underground roots. Also used to remove nasty bushes planted all over property-a total of 27 of them. Also removed those root systems so they could never grow back again. I have used Diablo blades at former homes in Cali and they are just amazing!

Really, Really Good
Super effective and durable. Used to cut down and uproot dead apple tree. Apple trees are hardwood, and this made easy work. These are sharper and stay sharper longer than the slightly cheaper EZARC carbide 3-pack of same length and TPI - I had new 3-packs of each and compared them. Of significant note, I also plunged this blade near vertical into the ground to cut away the roots in a circle to uproot this tree. Cheaper and less disruptive and WAY easier to handle than a stump grinder. Didn’t want to rent and load/unload one…just more time, money and work. Didn’t want to meet a contractor to bid it. After cutting down the tree and cutting half way around the roots. I needed a new blade from the 3-pack and finished the circle. You can tell when you hit a root because the wood is hard, otherwise it makes quick time through packed soil like it’s almost not there. A pleasure to use and a good clean finish to the job.

Admirable lifetime under abuse
I have bought the 3-pack of these blades to dig out the roots of a large weeping cherry tree. The blades spent all of their time buried into the clay dirt, cutting a fairly dense and sticky wood. Right out of the box, the blades are very aggressive and cut wood almost as good as a small electric chainsaw. As you keep working in the dirt, the blades would progressively get duller. Since the teeth on either side do not wear out uniformly, the blade eventually starts vibrating, especially when pinched. This vibration leads to the blade breaking along the weakest point, which happens to be the hole punched in the mounting side of the blade. Since this part is standard across the sawzalls, there is no way to make it thicker or sturdier. I'm still giving these blades 5 starts and here is why: 1. I don't think of anything else that would allow cutting in the dirt for this long and this deep. A chainsaw lasts like 5 minutes before unable to cut anything and needing to be sharpened. These blades last half an hour to an hour. Even dull, they never stop cutting. They go slower, but they still work. 2. By the time a blade breaks, it is usually pretty dull already. It still works, but at this point you are actually looking forward to a new blade. The last of the three blades broke on me while I was sawing the last root, already out of the ground. You can see the complete pile I was able to dig out with these blades in my photos. At this, I am going to buy another pack because I've enjoyed them that much!

Diablo Pruning Blades "Great Blades"
These blades are Great; they are very sharp and long to help pruning high in trees. The blade tip design makes it easy to plunge into the ground to cut unwanted tree roots. I have had my first blade for years and still was cutting good till I bent it to the side and broke it right at the end of the saw wiping off dirt. I would buy again and recommend to others.

Decent Blades
Worked pretty well until they came up against live oak roots. I may as well have been trying to cut through iron.

Worth every penny
These blades arent cheap, but you get what you pay for with these . I have abused these blades and they keep going. Cutting saplings out around the edge of a pond. Thought dirt, roots, water, whatever I've put them through they have held up well. Very tough. If I bend one over time, I straighten it by hand and keep going. I finally break one long after I would have gone thru multiple cheaper blades. Yeah they are worth it.

The best blade for pruning using a reciprocating saw!
Before this blade, I have been using the 12 inch regular pruning saw blade in cutting branches of trees here and there. Branches that range from 3 inches to I think almost as long as the blade. Lately, I find myself tasked with a lot of pruning activities. The basic carbon steel blades will easily dull. The trees I have been attacking were probably of the hard wood family. The sap of those branches was sticky that added to the rapid accumulation of debris in the teeth during cutting, adding burden to the saw. It is not easy to be holding a chainsaw while on an extension ladder high up those branches. So my cutting tool of choice is the cordless reciprocating saw. Fitted with this new blade, cutting time and effort up are reduced significantly...it felt like it cut quicker by half the time. Yesterday, I cut an 9 inch diameter branch with ease... essentially holding the saw with the left hand while my right hand is hanging on to the ladder. I was surprised, impressed and happy with the performance of this Freud pruning blade. Would I buy again? If I had the money, yes, I would definitely do stock up on this specific blade by Freud. But, this was just bought using a gift card given by a generous and kind stranger whom I met at youtube. Otherwise, I would never have realized such a pruning saw blade with high tech characteristics exist. This blade means business. When you need to prune sturdy branches when a chainsaw is not safely doable (like perced on top of a ladder or up on a branch), this blade can certainly do the job done. I will not be able to buy again, but, I highly recommend this for pruning. My only complaint though, the true cutting length is not 12 inches. The tang is already an inch long. When installed in the reciprocating saw, the depth of cut adjusted to maximum, the actual length that is available for pruning is only about 9 1/2 inches, depending on your reciprocating saw model.

Diablo by Freud is a well known for build quality and durability. I buy them whenever they go on sale since these aren't cheap but well worth the price.

These are amazing blades. I used these to cut and trim branches and these cut like butter. They are so sharp and stay sharp for so long! Way better than other blades I have used. They easily cut branches as thick as 6-8 inches wide. I also used this blade to cut a tree that had fallen down into smaller chunks for disposal. Highly recommended and worth every cent.

Excelente sierra para cortar troncos. Había probado con otras y a pesar de que cortaban, el esfuerzo y tiempo era mayor. Con estas los cortes son más rápidos.
