This review is based on the original phone car holder that was on this listing, a phone holder that had a ball and socket joint and that you turned screws to help secure it within the holder. This listing now seems to have been replaced by a MAG-SAFE magnetic phone holder in its place. That item was at a cost of 13.99 whereas this new item seems to be listing at a price of 29.99 and operates based on magnetic field ring.Based on the original product listing I was quite satisfied with this phone holder. It took a little bit of effort to put it together and I did have to refer to the instruction manual but then was able to have it in one piece. Attaching it to the car was also fairly easy and I liked that it was able to hold the phone so tightly while also containing a quick release that essentially 'snapped' to let the phone go free if you're in a rush. I like the compact shape and the fact that it could fit securely in my glove compartment.I'm not sure if the seller still has that item but I do recommend it.

I installed this on the top side of my steering column so my phone sits right behind the steering wheel. I have a charging routed there so I can just plug in my phone when needed to charge or run Carplay on my radio.The 3m adhesive on the mount makes a very secure connection and I'm not worried about it falling off. As for the magnet, it is very strong. My phone stays in place no matter the size of potholes. it tilts and swings to allow you to change the angle of the phone. I usually just fold it down flat so my phone doesn't block anything on the instrument cluster. Very cool and convenient mount.

These newer designs for MagSafe phones are much more powerful than my older mount. They no longer require the metal backplate to get good attachment. It’s actually stronger than the metal plate to magnet attachment I previously had and this model is much smaller and folds down more invisibly. The adhesive takes a bit of time to bond so make sure you put pressure on it for the required time or you might think the tap won’t stick in your car (happened to me). After 24 hours it’s very strong and has not issues in the freezing cold here. Considering it’s the same 3M brand adhesive tape as my previous mount I can’t imagine it will come off accidently ever. They also remove very cleanly when you want them too. This mount is better than my previous one in every way except the mounting head doesn’t move side to size and you have to rachet the arm into one of its designated rotation points. Just not quite as versatile for side-to-side positioning. Overall, this is a great mount with a very low profile when folded down. For me it was an upgrade in so many ways it’s an easy choice over an older mount. If you’re really in need of more versatile side to side movement you might want a different model but it’s probably perfect for most people.

I have an older car that doesn't have much room for phone holders and the vent style ones are too heavy and make my phone point downwards. This was easy to mount on top of my dash and the long extension arm allowed me to try out multiple angles until I found one I liked. The magnet is strong and don't have to worry about my phone coming loose if I hit a bump. The mount seems heavy duty and the adhesive seems strong, feels like it will hold up to the extreme weather changes we have here in Ohio.

This phone stand is awesome. It is very heavy for what it is, and looks really nice. The magnet is super strong, and I don’t worry that my phone will fall off while driving at all. It was easy to put in my car, but I did have a plastic plate where my old holder attached. (it was a suction cup version.) if your phone is not metal, or you do not have a case that is compatible, it does come with one metal circle you can attach to your phone or case, which was super helpful for me, because I didn’t need to buy a brand new case that was compatible. It also lays down flat on my dash when not use so it’s not just in the way. 10 out of 10.

Very well made, strong & durable. Adhered very strongly to the mounting surface. It has strong tension to keep it in the position you want, and a very strong mounting ring. My phone stays put! I am using it on the side of a metal desk, and it is great to have the phone visible and accessible while working, and easy to remove when I need to.

This is perfect for what I was looking for: a way to mount my phone to my racing rig. This was the best option since no tools are required and it fits perfectly on the shelf for the steering wheel. I love having quick and easy access to my phone while racing.The holder itself is very sturdy and offers many adjustments. A real bonus for me is that the base rotates at set intervals and clicks into position. So far this holder has been excellent and convenient. Love it!!

I Ordered two of these to install in older cars with limited installation locations. Installed easily and allows multiple angles for viewing phone. Magnet holds well, never had a failure or phone drop off. Only concern I have is when it comes time to permanently remove from the dash installation will it leave any visible marks.. but I don’t intend to remove for quite some time.

I've been using this phone holder for more than a month now. I got this to replace a makeshift one I’d created using the belt clip that came with my phone case. My DIY mount involved using zip ties to attach the belt clip to the car’s AC vents. However, this setup was not ideal for several reasons.Firstly, the security of the mount was questionable as the vents were not really stable, causing the phone to rattle slightly when the car was moving. Secondly, after my phone case that was compatible with the belt clip broke, the other phone case I tried did not fit well on the mount. Lastly, the mount was not universal, meaning if anyone else had to use the car, their phone wouldn’t fit in the mount because the belt clip was specifically designed for my phone case.When it was time to look for a new phone mount, I considered several options, including an adhesive ones, clip-on vent options, and screw-in vent types. In the end, I settled for a screw-in vent phone mount because I felt they would be more stable.This screw-in vent phone mount was incredibly easy to install - it took me longer to remove my old DIY mount than it did to install this new one. It only took about a minute to set up. The mount is also fairly stable and adjustable to any direction that suits my needs.An additional advantage of this mount is that it’s somewhat lifted from the vents. This design means that there won’t be any heating issues in winter - a constant concern with my DIY belt clip mount.I am very pleased with this new phone mount. It is well built, easy to install, stable, adjustable, and doesn’t interfere with the car’s heating system. Plus, there are no worries about adhesion or glue issues that might have come with other types of mounts.

This is a very promising product.To start, it's really easy to set up. Unscrew the nut, press piece A onto piece B, and screw the nut back on. (Please read the actual instructions for proper installation, but this is the gist of it). Then, you either stick it on your dash or windscreen, or you attach it to your vents.I only stuck this to my dash, so if you attach it anywhere else, YMMV.It sticks easily and firmly. The arm of the holder moves slightly to adjust where you phone is. The head swivels to fine tune the angle.Even though I have a larger phone, with a large case, my phone fits well in this. A lot of other holders are tight fitting or damaging to my case, if they even fit at all. This is easy to put into place, easy to release, and does not do any damage! Quite impressed!Even tapping on my phone (while car is stationary), the mount did not move once.After using this product for a while, I am even more impressed with it. It does not bounce or vibrate at all with the motions of driving, and it has not moved an inch. I can easily put my phone on it and secure my phone one handed, without worry of anything falling or being unsecured. This is honestly the best mount I've ever tried.

This holder is a strong metal arm and robust hinges which are flexible in several places so that you can get the perfect angle for your phone. The grip on the phone is vice like and there is no worry that any normal driving will dislodge the phone and it's easy to rotate the phone through 90 degree when you need landscape for navigation.NOTE: The base also rotates but may (like ours) require quite some persuasion before it moves, so make sure you leave it 24 hrs for the adhesive to fully cure before trying. Once moving the base is then easy to rotate as and when needed.When not in use for a phone the holder folds nicely (see pics) into a very small form almost flat, which means that it can't catch clothes or be forced off inadvertently.The item comes with accessories to make sure that should be suitable for most phones including those without Mag Safe rings via a self-adhesive metallic ring that can be stuck to the phone/case as needed. It also comes with spare adhesive pads to allow these to be replaced if necessary or allowing the mount to be moved. I am very happy with this and have already purchased a second one for my sons car.

Review of MP-MALL Fits for Car Mount, Magnetic Hands Free,There is no denying this mobile phone car mount is different, a simple three piece design, chrome metal in appearance using 3M VHB adhesive sticky pads to mount on non leather or textile dashboards.The heavy alloy item very robust, has a large centre- less circular magnet for phone mounting, included two self adhesive metal rings to attach to phone or case if required, two spare 3M sticky pads with a user manual all supplied in the box.When used on a non leather or textile dashboard and after expiry of the 24hour stick and wait period the base was solid in attachment and did rotate 360 degrees notch by notch to adjust position, by contrast the 180 degree arm movement a quite stiff continuous movement on both base and magnetic collar, the magnetic holding phones or cases with good grip.The 3M VHB adhesive pads do stick extremely well on flat surfaces (not leather or textile) so choosing the position before sticking is important, the arm movement is 180 degrees however to get the swinging magnet face above or below this arm is dependant on arm being over the base (short) or out from the base (long), this mentioned as replacement additional 3M VHB adhesive pads can be expensive at £1 each for constant repositioning.Another point to mention is heat, we are told the 3M adhesive pads good for up to 90 degrees centigrade (194*F), this a metal phone mount on a dashboard behind glass possibly in direct sunlight, other advice we are given is to remove these 3M pads one should use heat to soften, somewhat of a contradiction for the intended use, position, position, position the key word phrase I would have thought.I also found the best action for phone removal is to slide the phone across the magnet before lifting to weaken the grip of the strong magnetic force.This an attractive small phone holder provided one has a suitable flat surface to stick it too, the 35mm diameter base maybe a little to small for dashboard long term adhesion with constant use however I like the visual appearance, ease of phone attachment and fold down design.

Tired of cheaper, unreliable, inferior phone holders letting me down, I looked on Amazon. There are so many, but I opted for this one. I haven't used it much as yet, but so far I have fitted it to the air vent, though I have the option of mounting it on the dash or the screen. It is unlikely to fall off, and the fittings and design ensure that the phone is held securely where I want it to be until I remove it. When I have cleaned the dash and the inside of the screen, I will see how it works there too, and if my daughters like it... they have both suffered from frail, half-hearted products in the past... I might buy for them too.P.S. Just ordered another two.
