This kit works well. The crimper feels solid in hand and makes clean, consistent crimps with pass-through RJ45 connectors. Blades cut flush and I’m not getting hang-ups or half-crimps. That alone saves time when you’re terminating a batch of cables. The included cable tester is a nice bonus. Simple, but it does exactly what it needs to—quickly confirms pinout and continuity so you’re not chasing wiring mistakes later. For basic network installs or shop use, it’s more than adequate. If you’re making your own patch cables and want a straightforward pass-through setup that actually works, this kit does the job.

Really made well with plenty of extra. Able to use with ease. Cuts and strips easy. Crimps easy enough even with old hands. The tool is really solid and will probably outlast me. The tester worked after adding a battery and may not outlast me. Will see . extra blades, other tools and plenty of cat 6 connectors and stress releafs.

It’s funny just when you think Wi-Fi has taken over completely, you need to run an ethernet cable through a tiny hole. Decided to add some POE cameras and had thrown my own old crimping tool out. This one is half the price of some more recognizable namebrand ones and yet it came with so much more. Five or six crimping is deep and it’s worked perfectly. Great value.

These are both great tools, and if you’re doing any kind of DIY work on your home network, especially if running new Cat6 with 8p8c connections. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is regarding the two-part tester, whose parts are supposed to clip onto each other so one doesn’t get lost—that clip, at least the one on the tester I received, won’t easily allow you to slide the 2 pieces all the way together. I tried it one time, and the next time I needed to use the tester (3 days later) I had to take a hammer to it to get the pieces separated. So now I only slide the clip on until it wants to stop, about halfway clipped together. That said, the tester works fine, gives accurate feedback, and the pieces really do seem to stay safely clipped together when put away.

I've bought a lot of Ethernet RJ45 strip/crimp tools over the years...and have ALWAYS been frustrated as the stripping tool either would cut too deep and nick the conductors...or not cut deep enough and I'd have to fight the jacket off the cable. AND THEN, I'd go thru about three or four RJ45 connectors before getting a good, solid, properly wired connector. I bought this tool because I'd busted the locking tab off one of my Ethernet cables...and rather than tossing it I figured I'd try this tool since it had good ratings. RESULT: PERFECT STRIP AND CRIMP THE FIRST TIME! I'm blown away...I've spent far more than this tool for far less results! Seems like a really nicely made tool, it was easy to use, and seems like it will last a good long time. Very happy.

Used it immediately on a cat6 cable with a broken latch tab. Threading the wires into the connector not as easy as described but whole operation took only 15min. Haven't used cable tester yet. Very pleased with product.

I purchased this to replace an older non-Pass Through Crimp Tool. All I can say is that I should have purchased one long ago. This tool makes it so easy and effortless to crimp an end onto a CAT5/6 cable without any mistakes. Without a Pass Through connector, you have to get the length of the wires exactly right, the ends of the wires even, get them into the connector, verify that the order has not changed, and then crimp hoping that it does not move from the end of the connector. While doable, there are times that they are slightly off and the crimp does not pully penetrate the wire. Not with this tool, you can strip back 1.5-2in of sheathing (which makes it easy to separate the wires), separate them into the T568A or T568B configuration, and insert them into the connector. Once in the connector, you can easily see if the order is correct and push the wire all the way in, insert it into the crimp tool, and crimp/cut all at one time. When I finished the first one, I said out loud, I should have bought this sooner. I was able to do three newly run cables (both ends) in a few minutes without any issues in the crimps. They all tested perfectly. The last set I did with the old tool I had to re-crimp one end as it did not take correctly. The tool is well built and solid. The one side shows the standard colors for the T568A or T568B configurations, which is helpful for those that do not have it memorized. You can see in the pictures that it is a clean and solid crimp on the connector. I pulled back the strain relief boot so it could be clearly seen. Even if you only do CAT 5/6 cables occasionally, it is worth every penny for no frustration trying to get the connector in place. I am very happy with this purchase and would recommend to anyone doing their own cable ends.

These are so much easier than regular connectors. You can double check the wires before you crimp. And you can also pull the wire tightly into the connector before crimping. We use this a lot for being amateurs- probably put on over 50 ends by now…. Still works well. Nice cutters too.

After using the crimper 4 times it stopped crimping pin 6 and is now basically useless. Out of return time so It will be going in the trash.
