Auto temperature correction, just to easy to use!
I used this to check the gravity of my wort and it was flawless, easy to use and clean! Definitely would recommend this for all distillers.

Hard to Use for a Coffee TDS Measurement
This refractometer works fine, but is hard to use for measuring the Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) in coffee due to the measurement scale as the coffee measurement only uses the lower 5th of the scale, and thus is hard to read properly for an accurate measurement. Still beats buying the ~$200 coffee refractometers for a measurement you don't do very often.

Winemakers dream come true!
Love this...I am a winemaker and it was always a long process to figure the brix and therefore the starting specific gravity of the grapes so that I could determine the ideal time for crushing. This awesome tool makes it a snap!

very nice
This is a well constructed unit that seems to work very well. I'm an engineer, so I'm usually pretty critical. When I received it, I tested it with distilled water. Bazinga! 0.0 brix. The instructions are a bit thin, but OK. Note that the "adjustment screw" is well hidden, under the black post that looks for all the world like a push-button. In order to use this unit, you need a really bright light. Regular room light won't work. Hold it out in the sunlight, or directly under a bright lamp. Comes with a handy cloth enclosure, three plastic droppers, a tiny screwdriver, and a cloth to clean the measurement surface.

Makes it easy
This seems accurate enough. It makes tracking your SG during the boil a cinch. They say it doesn't read fermenting beer. I haven't tried it. I use the hydrometer. There's more to drink after that way.
