Wow, what a gripping and gritty ride.This box set is such a thrilling dark and gripping ride, so for any reader that loves grit, dark and a lot of angst it's definitely for you.A bit about the plotJulz is a young girl who is brought up by the Gypsy brothers MC and at the age of 15 is left for near death and raped by all the brothers accept one her best friend Jason. On Dornan's orders, she is brutally raped and left for dead and all for the sins of her father. Julz was a part of the Gypsy brothers was held by Dornan as a baby and had looked up to him like a father.Betrayal and acts of pure evil turn an innocent girl into a killer.Julz is rescued, changes her I.D and appearance and goes on a revenge mission killing the brothers one by one.Jase is the boy Juliette grew up who thinks she died 6 years ago he is also the boy she left behind who still grieves her and the boy she loved. jules has to go back into the lion's den to complete her mission and is now Samantha and can't let Jason recognise her or blow her cover.Juliette is one girl on a mission and won't stop until she has her vengeance.Each book gets more intense and absolutely anything can happen at any time it is completely unpredictable with the twists and turns in the plot.The Gypsy brothers box set contains eight books that cannot be read as a standalone, each book continues the story starting first with Julz and what she has endured then goes onto the vengeance mission one brother at a time and then continues onto more dangerous and gripping stuff as she has addition help and they go for Dornan the President of the Gypsy brothers.All I wanted throughout was for Jules to finally be free, get her Vengeance and the boy she was meant to be with but it was one hell of a ride before she got there.A DARK AND GRITTY READ FROM START TO FINISHDark, intense, a second chance romance, many twists and turns. Told in First persons pov. Contains dark and gritty scenes so not for the faint-hearted.

I got this series as a set which was books 1-8 including Alternate so I have to review them as a whole set. I don’t have spoilers in my review but reading this series prepared to be shocked, surprised, disgusted, horrified, relieved, happy, exhausted and confused throughout!Firstly HOLY SHIZ that was intense! Now I’m no stranger to a dark romance novel however this is no romance novel and this seriously seriously dark. I was taken aback by the raw descriptive nature of the text however it really helped shaped the characters’ stories. I was completely engrossed and all I could think about was reading more, hoping for a HEA but knowing this was not the kind of book that felt like it would get one and I was ok with that.The build up in book one I found so refreshingly unique and I was hooked, I knew what Juliette endured but the description was horrific and like a train wreck I couldn’t not watch (or read that is)! I felt the pace was fast and the relationships felt real. I really liked Juliette, Jason and Elliott. It wasn’t really a love triangle but they were so intrinsically linked I just didn’t know how it would end between them all.Book 3 ‘Three Years’ was by far one of the hardest books I’ve EVER read (and read up to 200 books a year so that’s sying something!). The depravity was....just...urghhh I don’t even know the words. You just need to keep going but trust me it was tough and may seriously give you nightmares!I liked One Love however I was pleasantly surprised that there was more! Alternate was interesting and a good little addition and Zero Hour was the perfect ending. It wasn’t hearts and flowers but honestly after reading the whole series you can’t honestly expect that! The ending was good and I’m excited to read Luis’ and Elliott’s stories in their own books as well as reading The Cartel Series and the new Verona Beach book and that series.I can’t believe that Lili St Germain has written such a great series as her first set of novels! She is definitely going on my list of pre-approved novelists so I hope she keeps up the good work because it seriously is good work! I read A LOT of romance novels in all forms and this was such a great surprise.So glad to have read this, an easy 5* from me!

Review for Alternate only.I loved the Gypsy Brothers series and being on Juliette’s passionate and crazy journey of vengeance, redemption, and retribution. The story is dark, gritty, captivating and intense. The series was one of my top favorites reads for 2014 and also my first intro to the world of bikers.When I started to read Alternate I did wonder if this bonus novella told from told from the point of views of Doran, Elliot and Jase was really needed. And now after reading it I have to say I liked it and it did add to the story. It gives you a little more insight into these 3 different characters.I liked Elliot and Jase’s POV best with Elliot’s you got his feelings for Juliette and with Jase what he went through at the hands of his sociopath father and brothers. And well as for Doran I couldn’t give two hoots about his, as I hate this man with a passion.If you love this series, then I would certainly give Alternate the once over. Now I’m off to read Zero!!
