I think that this snowplow wiring harness is an acceptable choice. Surprisingly for a waterproof application this harness has un-tinned thicker stranded copper wiring, and unrated shielding. Tinned Copper is the standard in marine applications were salt, and moisture are ever present. in a snowplow, these conditions are highly similar to marine as road salts and snow create the same atmosphere.The loom appears to be a fabric “Tessa” type tape, although a nylon loom over the fabric tape would have been desirable.I think for heavy duty applications, loom, shielding, and connectors are critical for durability and overall functionality, especially in high moisture applications. I think that tinned copper and finer stranded wire heat shrink terminal connector or a small tube of silicone that would allow for a waterproof termination point would have put this at the five star tier. However without the aforementioned considerations, this harness will sit at three stars for me. Granted this harness really wouldn’t do anyone wrong if this was your first place choice just wouldn’t be the best.
