My favorite headphones for listening to audiobooks in the pool
Edit: Headphones developed an issue with the mic and volume controls, and customer service replaced them as soon as I emailed them.tl;dr: These headphones are the best for audiobooks while swimming and biking.Sound and call quality are comparable to headphones at the same price point. The band fits comfortably around my neck and head and didn't get pulled off doing a flip turn in the pool. I keep several audiobooks on the device and select which one I want to listen to from the app. These are the only headphones I've found that have an app for navigating on device audiofiles, which is my favorite feature. They're light as well. The bluetooth protocol pierces about 1/16th inch into water so there's no getting around bluetooth not working while swimming. However, they have an FM receiver and I was able to receive audio underwater with my higher end transmitter. They work well for mountain and trail biking for the same reasons. Short wires and don't move around on my neck. They can't get lost on the trail and can be worn with a helmet. You can pop the earbuds out of your ears without stopping. They're waterproof so dust, mud, and water aren't an issue and you can keep your phone turned off if you want. I have a preference for using foam eartips for swimming and triple flange eartips for passive noise isolation so I replaced the ones that came with these. The only downside I can find is in in file navigation. The back and forward buttons go to next song, so I run my audiobooks through mp3directcut cut them into a series of 2min mp3s so I have navigation.

Not as good as the older version
I have owned an older version of Tayogo (bluetooth only) headphone for about a year. And they have been great. So when the delicate lead to the right earphone developed a short I tried to reorder these excellent waterproof headphones, but found they were no longer being made and were replaced with a version with mp3 player, radio and bluetooth functions. So I purchased this upgraded more expensive version. Immediately upon pairing with my phone and playing music, I noticed the music was different. It was as if some of the tracks of the songs were muffled or not “coming through”. It was a new and at first interesting way to hear the music. But the novelty soon wore off. Too much of the sound was missing. I then tested how far I could move from my phone and still maintain bluetooth connection. (My old Tayogo never lost connection anywhere alone the length of my 25 yd pool swim). With this new model I barely got 10 yards away from my phone before the sound began breaking-up. But all was not lost. I put my old Tayogo “USB main player” into the new “earphone frame” and I had my great Tayogo back again – great sound and bluetooth connectivity. I would advise not purchasing this new version – the Tayogo W12 Waterproof Bluetooth enabled All-in-One FM Radio/MP3 Player.

great for swimming laps in a pool
This is a good blue tooth device to swim boring laps in an indoor pool for an hour, connected to a iphone hung at one end of the pool! sound quality is excellent (so long as you are not below the water for long); as to why blue tooth as opposed to MP3? well, allows me to simply play favorite current podcasts without prior prep work of downloading (you only listen once unlike music), etc. Now the downside: I have gone thru roughly one unit every 12-18 months, wear and tear of the delicate wire that exits the band or at the ear plugs (designed obscelescence?). I thought about reinforcing the wire but have never done so!!! The manufacturer should improve the delicate wire so it is longer lasting so the product could get 5 stars!

Works very well. took a little time to figure out things not in the booklet.
I purchased this for use while swimming laps at the local pool. I have used it for over 4 weeks now. For some reason my review didn't post so I am updating it. I have read through all the negative reviews and expected something to happen about now however. my headset is still going strong. I have charged it a couple times but only because I didn't want to fully drain the battery. I have used the MP3 player portion, the FM radio and have tested out the Bluetooth functions. Bluetooth works like any other set I have I just haven't tested the range. As far as the FM radio function is concerned it is good for strong signal radio stations and you will need the phone App to scan for radio stations before you use it. The down side for the FM portion is you can not manually enter a station frequency or delete frequencies that you want to skip or are weak signal. But it is a local FM player if you need that. I found it manageable although I had a hard time getting my favorite station to scan in. The MP3 player portion is what I have used the most while swimming. There are some options that you have to play all songs, shuffle between the songs you select and to loop on a single song. This was not clearly explained and was only discovered while holding down the forward button for 1 second. Also you have the option to create playlists out of the files you have downloaded. I found that in order to get the headset to play the playlist you have to select the playlist in the App and select the first song title in the playlist. There is still more playing that I plan to do with this. It would be a little nicer if everything didn't have to go through the App to set up but it only takes a few minutes each time I put them on. I have had a problem with a couple songs act like they aren't tracking properly. I will need to check these two songs out a little more to see if it is a bad recording or a memory problem causing the music to skip. I currently have about 800 M of music loaded so there is still plenty of room to experiment. My experience with memory is that the higher percentage used the more that problems start to appear. I will be monitoring the performance and will update after another few months. But I am happy with the performance and enjoy the many different ways I can use this.

Product had missing part. Poor Amazon customer service in Singapore!
The product works okay and is certainly very promising, however, the larger sized “waterproof” earbuds needed for swimming were missing from the box. Only the smaller sized earbuds (see photo) were included and according the the manufacturers website, there should have been a larger size too. I contacted Amazon customer services and explained that I don’t wish to return the product for a refund. All I want is the missing parts to be sent to me. Unfortunately, they told me that since I’m in singapore and the order was fulfilled by Amazon US, that wasn’t an option. Very inflexible and poor customer service. No wonder almost no body in Singapore bothers with Amazon.
