Used when climbing Breariach, path up and top of the mountain was covered in snow. It made me feel much safer when hiking to the summit.

Crampons - XLGot these XL size to compare against an alternative suppliers L size which were a tight fit. These don't appear to be any bigger, I tried them with size 9 (Euro 43) walking boots and they required considerable effort to get on. I think with bigger boots they would be too small.Its the elastic frame which is the issue, their was actually a little bit of slack on the chains. Though you get a velcro strap that didn't seem necessary.They arrive in a zip-lock bag, and you get a drawstring bag. You don't get any instructions with the package, but the Amazon listing provides good information.

The crampons fitted my wellington boots really well and now I feel far more secure on the banks of the river now that the muddy season has started. Easy to recommend for anglers.

These ice snow grip crampons come with separate straps to secure them to your boots and a drawstring bag for storage.I love hiking and often hike in the country and with the winter months coming in I need to have a pair of crampons because mud and snow can be a real problem where I live.What I like about these crampons is that the metal spikes are strong, the rubber is easy to stretch over the feet and they sit comfortably. The separate strap is a bit fiddly, but it does secure the crampon to the shoe. It's not snowing here yet, but the rain has poured over the last couple of days, and I've been out and about trying them out. They have much grip in the mud, and I can imagine will be great in the snow too.Overall, I'm glad I ordered them, looking forward to hiking in the snowy winter months now because these are good quality, strong and ideal.
