RooTrimmer 10 Pack 1020 Seed Starter Trays and 10 Pcs 72 Cell Plug Trays, Thick Durable Seedling Plastic Nursery Tray for TD538 1020 Tray Germination (10 Sets)

The RooTrimer brand are high quality trays and inserts. I picked up a couple of the 10 pk of 72 cell with the shallow trays about two years ago for use in the greenhouse for crops at the farm. They are constantly in a rotation of germination spring veggies, clean and disinfect, then start cut flowers, clean and disinfect, then start fall veggies and every single one of them is still in perfect condition. They aren’t quiet as HD as the $30 each germination trays but they are more then adequate. And 1/10th the cost. After planting, any spots that had failed germination I smack the trays on the bottom of my boot to dislodge any soil in those spots so they haven’t been babied by any means and are still holding up great, so I just ordered more of them. This time I needed extra of just the trays for cactus seedlings in the greenhouse but the trays with the inserts are only a few dollars more than just the trays alone so I’ve got backup inserts should one ever break.

These trays are great -- I wish I had found them before I had purchased the others. Functionality is great! The bottom trays are thick and rigid and the seedling trays fit perfectly into the lower trays. The thickness of the bottom trays make it easy to move from greenhouse to watering area. It is easy to remove the plants once you are ready to plant them. The price paid was much better than most other options. I will purchase these again!

Very sturdy compared to other ones I've had, they are very much as advertised. Would recommend. goes well with the domes i also got from the same brand. Now i have 720 plant apartments for next year's growing season.

Trays are durable and fit together well. Cells are big enough for any type of seed I needed to plant for this spring.

The bottom tray is thicker than the top tray. I can see the top tray lasting a few years and the bottom lasting longer. Tip: saw a video on YT where a guy used a piece of drip irrigation tubing to push the seed starts up through the hole in the bottom and it works perfectly. WAY easier than trying to dig them out with a knife and keeps the roots from ripping off. Also allows you to use various seed starting medium and different moisture levels. The soil still needs to be not too wet or dry but when using a knife or whatever it has to be damn near perfect or you end up making a huge mess and potentially killing or stressing the plants.

I love these! Very sturdy. Better than the other ones I bought last year. Definitely a winner! Can't wait to use them again next year!

Very useful in starting plants indoors. We are in Colorado and the weather changes too quickly to start anything outdoors. I have use my enclosed porch that is not temp controlled and using this product allows me enough protection to start earlier than before and continue long after the regular season inside my porch.
