Mr. Pen- Compass for Geometry, Silver with Extra Leads, Metal Compass Drawing Compass, Geometry Compass, Math Compass, Compass Drawing, Drafting Compass, Drafting Tools

This seems to be very well made however I've scoured the internet looking for some instructions on how to put the lead in. Checked Mr. Pen's YouTube thinking maybe they show someone actually doing it and they don't. I've only used pencil-holding compasses so this was new territory for me. It looks like I was making it way more difficult than needed! I took a pair of tweezers and pulled the metal out and viola I can out the lead in. Super sturdy compass so I'm happy with the purchase!

Sturdy and well built (for a mere $5). Unfortunately, it does not come with instructions and I am not the smartest (I'll admit this with a smile on my face) when dealing with materials like this. Once my husband showed me, the pen compass does the job.

I like it because I didn't have to put a big pencil it has his own and I like it because it's does the job you can get my circles well made and it's just quick

The pieces fit together loosely and cannot be tightened down, they cannot be aligned much less maintain that alignment, and the bolts are made in a manner which makes it impossible to tighten them because they just spin freely. Everyone involved in the production and marketing of this thing should be ashamed.

I got this for my husband and he has been very happy with it. It’s very simple to use and works great. It’s well made and is very stable, and accurate.

This feels solidly built. And looks like a professional tool. It comes with a metal point installed, for etching things I guess? There are two graphite tips included for drawing on things.Both ends can be flipped 180 degrees to expose a different kind of tip but I'm not sure what they're for. Maybe if you're a professional drafter you already know what these are for but it would be nice if there were some instructions.It comes in a nice little plastic case. It's much smaller than I was expecting - The whole case is smaller than those old compasses from school that you attach a regular pencil to.For some reason there was a piece of black plastic covered paper in the shape of a mustache. Not sure what to do with it. I thought it was a sticker but it doesn't seem to have a backing to peel off. There's a tiny matching mustache embossed on the side of the compass itself. I guess it's Mr. Pen's logo?

It’s a decent enough deal, but the main gear that is supposed to keep the two arms bound to each other has an annoying amount of play in it, making it hard to keep it at a consistent radius. You can see the problem in my photos. The right arm hasn’t moved at all but the left has that all of that play.
