Home at last
Wonderful story of refugees from German occupation and terror finally stepping foot on the soil of Eratz Israel. The author has lots of characters to fill the story and is able to do so easily. The story is easy to follow and I can't wait for the next book.

Repercussions of the Holocaust never end...
This is the third book of the series and I am still attached to the charactersāthose whose lives the author still tells us about and those newly introduced. Ms. Kagan places the characters and important circumstances throughout the plot in a manner that, if you've read the previous books of the series, refreshes your memory without boring you, and, meanwhile, introduces them to the reader who is knew to the series. She beautifully weaves together the horror of what these people endured, the strength that kept them alive, and the reward that finally awaited them, all the while carrying an additional thread of the "current events" as they pertained to the main plot.Sometimes I felt like the story was dying down only to be reignited either right where I was or somewhere else quite unexpectedly. There are a few characters whose use to the overall plot seemed to have "expired", and I found myself wondering why words were being wasted on them; but I think they will be more meaningful in the next book, "To Be an Israeli"āwhich I cannot wait to see published! The Holocaust in Historical Fiction has become one of my favorite genres thanks to authors such as Roberta Kagan. Even though the story is fictional, a good amount of factual history is there to continually surprise you. In this case, the surprises are not good, but the knowledge of them is! It never ceases to horrify me that there wereāand still areā"people" in the world who carry such hate in their souls!

I found this book very well written and enjoyed it very much
There is a lot of books that have the same basic theme. The natzi theme sets the groundwork for the rest of this book. I enjoyed all the twists and turns of the plot. Well done!

Amazing read
Kagan, a gifted writer weaves an incredible saga. The War, the terrible end of the Holocaust, with itsā victims trying to pick up their lives and itsā monsters trying to escape judgement. Skillfully Roberta weaves their lives intertwining them then separating them in their humanity, emotions, love and heartbreak. Great!

MS. KAGAN HAS DONE IT AGAIN!
āThe Promised Land,ā the third and last of Roberta Kaganās āAll My Love, Detrickā series, does not disappoint; in fact, it more than fulfills expectations. It involves the day to day struggles of the Jewish people under Hitlerās Reich and the necessity of fleeing their homeland and finding a safe haven. The unique voices of the characters, their experiences, and the ebb and flow of their various emotions tug at your heartstrings and evoke profound sympathy for the victims. Zofia, the heroine, epitomizes all Holocaust victims; everything was taken from her--people, possessions, her home.At one point in the book, Katja and Rachel find and heal a wounded bird and then have the gratification of watching it fly away. The reader cannot help but associate this incident that seemed to mirror friends and family scattering and going their separate ways in order to survive. This Holocaust book has unexpected twists and turns; yet throughout the pathos, the heroineās gentle demeanor prevails. You cry with her, you hurt for her, you laugh with her. You also find yourself cheering for her daughter, Katja, whose goal was to find her place in The Promised Land.

Jewish Homelanf
I liked hoe this story told about Jews wanting their own country. It was interesting how the country came about and told about kibbutz life.

Mixed Feelings
Well this is definitely a first for me with one of this authors works. I didn't love it and I didn't dislike it but it certainly isn't one of my favorites of hers. I found sections of it slow, drawn out and surprisingly boring. I also felt there was way too much repetition (if you read it you'll quickly realize it). However, there were some really interesting and exciting moments that kept me reading and moving on to the next book in the series. I hope this was just a fluke.

Great Series!
With so many new authors self publishing on Amazon it has really become a challenge to find really good authors that write really good books. Roberta Kagan is just such an author. Her stories are very deep and mentally challenging as they deal with the atrocities of the Jewish people during WWII yet they will suck you in and not let you go until you know how it ends. Very few authors have the talent to pull you into this without depressing you, Roberta does it with a light that other authors cannot see. If you never read another holocaust book in your life I hope you take the time to read this one. It will alter your perception of the holocaust in ways that only you will know. The character become your family and while you are visiting you will want to stay so settle in for a great ride, where your next stop is nobody knows..........enjoy!

This book is one of the best books I have ever read
This book is one of the best books I have ever read. Roberta is a brilliant author and along with her other two books in this series, All my love Detrick and you are my Sunshine they have got to be the best books I have ever read or ever likely to read, not only are the stories gripping but the information contained in these books is a history lesson in itself, these books need to be in schools, they should be part of a school curriculum. I just couldn't put them down, The promised Land was that gripping I stayed up some nights forgetting the time. Roberta Kagan should receive a prize for producing such works, she is one amazing author and I am so looking forward to the next book in the series, To be an Israeli, I have no doubt I will have another sleepless night reading that one, the books are that gripping and I would recommend reading them to anyone, infact many friends have done just that. Keep up the good work Roberta, you are fantastic.
