Glides nicely. A little difficult to align top and bottom so that door tilt and bulk are even all the way around. Be prepared to use a router for some of this if you want it to be no-show door. I like it.

I used these for a very big and heavy hidden shelf door I built. These look to be very similar to the “Murphy Door” hinges and are a fraction of the cost.If you want to achieve a true hidden door, it will require some routing and quite a bit of drilling to get these on properly.They are very well built and work as intended, if done correctly. The instructions that come with leave a lot to be desired but they are fairly self explanatory and you can find plenty of videos online to help.In my situation, I routed and flush mounted the hinges to my shelf but did not route and flush mount them to the frame in my wall. If you do your own trim work you can still hide the edge to give that hidden appearance. However if you measure everything correctly then routing / flush mounting on both would not be an issue.

Compared to $150 kits - this worked great. Still need to paint our trim and finish it out but the hardware was just what we needed to transform this ikea finnby bookcase into our Murphy door to hide a weird closet section.

These hinges mount to the floor and top of the jamb, and the top and bottom of the door. The weight is borne by the bottom hinge and bearing.You will need to cut a squared off recess in your floor to install them. I wouldn’t recommend them for a carpeted surface but you could install a stand-off under the hinge to use them that way.Besides a traditional door opening, these can be installed in the center of a door/case for a door that pivots open from the center.The package also comes with a spring loaded ball latch to keep the door closed.If you’re looking for a very tight hidden application, these may not be the answer. Since the hinge pivots are not at the edge of the door, you’ll need to leave a small gap at the edge to prevent binding (less if you’re using them for a center pivot). The bearings also add a gap between the hinge plates… but you could probably recess them into the door a bit more to make a smaller gap. You’ll also need a bit of wiggle room to work the door into the opening as you install the hinges.If you’re planning them for a bookcase-style hidden door, you could easily exceed the weight limit when loaded. The listing has 2 conflicting maximum weight numbers… 220 and 300 lbs.

I liked how sturdy they were and the fact it was a complete set for a decent price. Still my guy refused to install it so I had to return it, sadly. So no fault on the item. Really wish I could've tested it out. 😕

Very solid! works great on the door! doesn't show under the shelves either! A little learning is required to install but once you get it, it goes in smoothly!

These were perfectly to attach a bookcase inside of a doorway, and created a hidden door.They were easy to attach, open and close smoothly, and supported the weight well.We have had the bookcase door up for about four days now, I will report back in a month or two and let you know how they do with wear and tear.So far, great value for the price!
