The lights were super easy to install. The bi pin bulbs snapped right in easily. The 6 10 watt halogen bulbs put off a perfect warm light around my outdoor seating area. I was looking for lighting that would be bright enough to illuminate the area without being overpowering next to the seating area and fire pit. These fit the bill.The shades are tapered allowing the light shine downward and not in your face when sitting near them. They’re also a little smaller, around 5 inches in width, which suits a backyard or pool area. I’m thinking about getting some more to light around my deck and trees.I originally bought a 60 watt transformer that works for up to 48 watts but returned because it kept faulting out with more than 2 halogen bulbs. I’m not sure if replacing the bulbs with led if that would make a difference. I went with a 200 watt capacity transformer so I can add more lights to it. One photo is at night and the other at dawn.

I installed these on an existing low voltage line. Assembling the lights was basically easy, as was the installation. I'm no electrician and did this alone in less than one hour.The lights come with the electrical connectors snapped together. These need to be snapped apart before installation. When I was unsnapping one of the six, the grey connector came off the wire completely. By close examination, I was able to reattach this using only pliers. However when installing, a tiny "leg" broke off. The leg helps the two electrical connectors merge. Each connection has two of these legs, so I went ahead and installed anyway. The light worked. It was easy to attach each of these with their little metal "teeth" connectors into the low voltage wire by squeezing and tightening with pliers. Weight-wise the lights seem as solid as the much more expensive failed system that they replaced.

I purchased two six packs for a 100 ft run along a walkway. The support spikes are plastic, but they're very wide and feel sturdy so far. I ended up replacing the halogen bulbs with LEDs so I could use all 12 lights with a lower wattage transformer. The LED replacements also come in a few different colors that let you change things up for different occasions. The overall construction is pretty solid and they look great as well.
