Older teenagers film but easy viewing for anyone older.
I hadn't seen this film before and while it seemed to me to be more of an older teenagers film I quite liked it. I thought the driving scenes/road/highway racing were tame. What I did like though was the Arizona desert background and more massive cacti than I had realised existed road side. I also liked the brief shots in the Airplane graveyard in Arizona, a place I'd like to visit. The story was ok, and not especially believable but the pace was ok and it worked for me. I didn't find the film too tense and didn't mind the shots of bare breasts either and the film had about the right pitch as a 15. As a car movie it's ok and not forgetting it does feature a very young looking Charlie Sheen.

What Makes the Movie World of the Eighties Great!
Its a dark, cold night. The hard rain hitting the window is distorted by the crackling of coal fire and the curtains are closed so the tele licence van won't see the flickering from the television. Everyone sits, staring, me and my brother especially intrigued by the mysterious black car and the unusual super human standing in its shadow on the video cover. Introducing the film is the sound of the drums from a typical eighties song, similar to those on the likes of Rocky, Over the Top and Heavenly Kid. The picture and sound quality, a reflection of that era in video technology, and the very element which is captured by our imagination and stored there forever. We sit, only eight or nine years old, with very little understanding of what is happening, yet astounded by the powers of destruction, speed and the enforcement of justice. Twelve years later, I unearthed 'The Wraith' after several desperate attempts to find it again. Watching it again, after so long and with a completely different view on society, a whole new view of life and with a wealth of knowledge and experience in the art of Movies, it still astounds, it still amazez and is still the very aspect of my childhood memories, which make them great. Excellent.

"..VERY COOL 80'S MOVIE.."
This review is for the movie and the UK Vestron Video Blu-ray.PLOT...In a small town in Arizona, a mysterious man/spirit descends from the sky and manifests into a high-tech prototype car and targets a local violent road-racing gang. The Wraith is a definitive 80's classic movie! An unusual concept for a story but unique in every way and just so damn cool from beginning to end, well paced out with plenty action and car chases, a cool soundtrack, the effects and stunts are all top notch and the cast is perfect, Charlie Sheen plays the cool lead and Sherilyn Fenn plays the lead actress and love interest, and wow she is absolutely stunning in the 80's. The rest of the cast is great too, some really goofball characters, this movie is just so much fun, one of the best examples of just how cool the 80's were, a must for the collection, truly a classic!!The Blu-ray has a great HD picture.Features are great, 2 commentaries, lots of mini featurettes (78mins total approx)Trailers, TV spots, Gallery and more. 1986/2021.Language English. Subtitles English, Spanish. English SDH.Region B. Running time 93mins UNCUT. Comes with a cool slipcase.
