How do these compare to the tork x-pro speakers? those are ok, but after about 40-50 mph i can't hear them. any with direct experience?

I use these on my yz450 dirtbike and my ninja. I don’t know about the Tork x-pros but I have run helmet speakers while riding and racing dirt bikes for the last 10 years and I have a pair of these in my dirt bike helmet and they sound great and so loud I turn them down a notch. Sometimes all you have to do for helmet speakers to get the loudness is pad them out closer to your ear and make sure there perfectly centered. When I mount speakers in my helmet I Velcro them in and then I take Velcro and stick a few same size pieces back to back and use them as Velcro shims put them behind the speaker till it’s almost too tight at the speakers to get my helmet on and the work amazing. If you don’t paid them out toward your ear even the best most expensive speakers there are you won’t be able to hear. I’d try that on your torks or maybe you already have but I am zero disappointed in these speakers I love them and reccomend them to friends and put them in my snowboard helmet too.

Are these loud enough at 60, 80, 100+ MPH?

Depends on your helmet and wind noise. Speaker placement is crucial. I've added a Lucid Labs battery operated amplifier that increases sound as well. 60, no problem, 80 gets tough to hear, 100 - I'm not paying attention to the music anymore... I'm using a bell bullit which isn't known for being quiet... Again, speaker placement to cover the ears is crucial...

Does cardo spirit hd require the r-l speaker reversal you have mentioned?
