With the range of psychotropic drugs expanding and the usages of existing medications diversifying, we are pleased to present the Eighth Edition of the world's best-selling formulary in psychopharmacology. The new edition features seven brand new compounds as well as information about several newly approved formulations of existing drugs. Many important new indications are covered for existing drugs, as are updates to the profiles of the entire content and collection, including new injectable and transdermal formulations, as well as updated warnings and indications. The icons and Pearls have been refreshed throughout, and with the book's its easy-to-use, full-colour template-driven navigation system, Prescriber's Guide combines evidence-based data with clinically informed advice to support everyone who is prescribing in the field of mental health. Review: My Brain on Psychopharmacology (and Loving It) - I bought Stahl’s Prescriber’s Guide thinking it would be a “helpful reference.” Little did I know it would become my bedside buddy, my coffee table companion, and occasionally my excuse for looking busy at work. Pros: Covers everything from A to Z in psych meds. Makes me sound like a neuropharmacology wizard. Cons: May cause spontaneous daydreams of combining SSRIs with antipsychotics just to see what happens (don’t try this at home). Bottom line: If you want your inner nerd to high-five your clinical side, Stahl’s is basically a love letter to psychopharmacology. Review: Easy to consume/use - I grew up professionally with Stahl. It's a good desk reference and also has visuals that I use with patients.

Required book for nursing school, but I love it
As someone who has worked in the healthcare field for over a decade, this is the best drug guide I have seen. I love the layout and content, such as suggestions on what to do if treatment is ineffective, among other helpful information.

So thorough and easy to understand…
As a new prescriber, Stahl’s books are irreplaceable! They are written so thoroughly, yet simplistically, that even a novice prescriber can find the information they seek, the rationale they require, and pearls to remember. Have so many of Stahl’s books; they are worth the investment!

Wonderful resource for prescribers
Bye now!! This is definitely a must have. I was a little hesitant at first due to the price, but after I purchased and seen how wonderfully written it was, I was mad at myself for not purchasing it sooner. definitely a game changer.

Bought for Work
Bought this one for work, same as I bought the Clozapine Handbook and the LIthium Handbook. This is an invaluable resource - even if I am Canadian and some of the medications included within are only sold in America. Oh well, a pharmacist can dream while reading out drugs that are so close and yet so far. Aside from that, I really enjoy how simply and straightforward the information is presented for each drug. I wouldn't use this as a means of in-depth researching a medication, but if you want a quick & dirty rundown of all the basics, this is the book I'd reach for.

Good reference book
Very helpful reference dictionary for learning psychiatric medications. Downsides: not as comprehensive as I thought (missing common 1st gen antipsychotics like methotrimeprazine), titration information sometimes incomplete (with max doses missing)
