Great Customer Service
I purchased the small diamond awl, used it on several projects and it broke unexpectedly. I've only had it for a short time. I contacted WUTA's customer service (they're also active on Instagram), and they promptly replaced it. Here's hoping the new one doesn't break. The awl itself has a nice heft to it, and the fit and finish is good. The blade does need to be stropped a few times before I had at the right level of sharpness I wanted(which you do need to do for most things bought off the shelf). I've also purchased WUTA's pricking irons and diamond irons, and I've been happy with the quality of those items as well, which is why the awl breaking was surprising to me.

Hand stitching must haves
Very nice sewing awl. Extremely sharp points but small and easy to use. Have been hand sewing leather projects and this awl is a must!

Not worth the price. Sharp, but weak
For how much these cost, they should have much better temper than they do. Luckily I bought the three sizes, so I wasn't stuck halfway through the holster, but save your money and just buy a better brand. If I hadn't lost my old 20 year old craft oil one I wouldn't have had to buy this one (if you're looking at that one now, get the pro on sale). To be clear: I'm very careful with my tools. I'm not overly rough with them. I put very little lateral pressure on the blade in this case. The blade was only going through the last layer of leather (about 6oz). It pushed through just fine (hence sharp), but after about the 15th or 20th hole, broke at the base of the bezel. Speaking of the bezel... they are loose. They fall off. You would imagine that a brand that's positioning itself as a mid tier (price wise) alternative that WUTA would have dimpled the bezels to keep them from falling off, or at least put threads on the last 5mm so the blade can be replaced. All I can say is that I'm disappointed. I'll be looking elsewhere for my "quick and easy" tools in the future.

Pretty good for the money spent
The diamond awl works well, is very sharp and gets the job done. The design of the overall tool is one that has been around for more than a century but in this is well executed. My only issue was the gold/ brass? collar that protects where the awl seats in the wood, it is loose. It has not come off yet but it will. I will epoxy it back on so it is not any trouble. Other than that, it has been a good tool.

Pro quality, but on a budget.
This is a big upgrade from an entry level awl. I sharpened it initially, and it's been plugging away ever since. I find it especially good after I've glued up along the stitch line, and it cuts right through with ease. just to keep all my blood inside, I use a large cork on the back side when I'm punching 2 or more layers of 10 ounce, like a sheath or wet molded cases. This awl has a good grip, and is pretty easy to control and index, for consistent stitches.

Very nice little tools, very good value for the money
Very nice little tools, very good value for the money, feel very nice in your hand as they nestle well into my palm when working holes in leather.

Found this small sized one at a lower price than on the awl item page that has multiple size options. The small there was 19.99, this was 15.99. Honestly pretty happy with it overall. The handle is smaller than. I expected, but the blade was reasonably sharp upon arrival. The only gripe is that the little metal guard/escutcheon twisted very easily and seems ready to come off… I’ll reglue and it should be fine.

Cheap quality metal & all three awls snapped. Avoid!
