This unit works well as a soldering iron. It heats very quickly. It will be perfect for PCB work and light wire soldering. Unfortunately, as a 🛒 battery, this one falls short. The button is not momentary switch. It’s either on or off. As in, when you push the button, it continues to heat until it’s pressed again. This could potentially overheat the 🛒. You’re better off finding one that turns off when the switch isn’t depressed.

It's not the most powerful soldering iron, and the little sponge / support is kinda bad, but it's wonderful to not have a cord getting in your way and dragging your soldering iron off the desk!It's clearly a repurposed vape pen, but it heats up quickly enough on high power and I have soldered a half dozen wires since recharging.Couple of minor issues:- I had to take the wire bar out of the stand and bend it wider to make it stay in place- The cap is barely able to thread back on before it goes crooked and starts to mangle the threads. That makes the cap pretty much junk.- It doesn't fit back in the box after screwing an tip on.The one big issue is that there's no safety switch or lockout.\I'm not comfortable putting this away in a drawer with other items. If anything pushes the button, it could start a fire. I have to keep this in its own small, metal case for safety, and frankly that should have been included.In the end, it's a great price, so I really can't complain.

Button immediately got stuck and had to unjam it, the heating controls aren’t fine tuned you have to cycle if you want the heat to stop.

So far it's working great for my needs and I would recommend it to friends.

I had issues with receiving the product where it was either lost or damaged in transit so I requested a refund/replacement.I had hoped to replace my butane portable iron with it but, as noted by others too, it's not very powerful and it does have issues with the battery getting hot with extended use.It's good for small, fine work, however and the ability to change tips is a plus.

It gets waaaay hotter if it’s plugged in. Like very low red hot. Be careful as if you leave it on for too long it might overheat! This is for small jobs but packs a nice punch. I’m also going to add when I put a 🛒 in it to see how good that works. Melts solder after about 20 seconds and is hot enough for work after about 40-50 seconds.You can store solder inside the cap if you’re traveling light. Might wanna pack a small battery bank just in case you are off power for a while though bc this definitely uses a lot of power

I've only used the point tip for the Dmyond soldering iron to remove a surface mounted component from an old circuit board but the product worked without issue. The iron heated up quickly and without too much thought, I simply selected the hottest setting for work.I'm not sure when to use which heat setting is best and truth be told, I'm coming from a soldering iron you plug in to turn on. If you're going to be where 120v AC is inaccessible and doing back-to-back soldering, this is a nice tool to have in your kit. Even if you do have an outlet near, battery power is great... especially if you're used to your corded soldering iron flying off its stand when the cord is touched.If you're like me and only solder every once in a while, it is a little inconvenient to wait a few hours for iron to charge up. The Dmyond definitely has a place in my tool box, but it won't yet replace my Weller any time soon.
