It makes my scalp feel refreshed for hours, instead of minutes like the other peppermint shampoos I've tried. It also lathers up pretty good so you can be pretty frugal with it, even though they say use a liberal amount. If I used a liberal amount, it would be gone in a couple of weeks. I use an amount about the size of a quarter in my palm. I really hate the incredibly strong tape that they stretch over the top for shipping. It extends from the bottom of the bottle on one side, extends over the cap and then to the bottom on the other side. What overkill! Why don't they just seal the bottle with a pull tab seal under the cap like juice bottles, vitamin bottles, etc.? When I tore it off, it left a gooey mess that Goo-Gone, rubbing alcohol or even WD-40 couldn't remove. I had to scrub, and scrub, and scrub! Finally I took a Scotchbrite off to it, and that didn't work! Really? Finally, when all the chemical dried off and it sat for a couple of hours, the goo turned into a rubbery mess I could roll off with my thumb. What a mess! Who wants to grab that every tone they shampoo? Yuk! Next time I'll take a hair dryer to it and warm it up before I remove it or just cut it by the cap. I hope they read this and resolve the issue. In spite of it being taped up like you're never supposed to get into it, I would definitely buy it again.

I liked it, it's not too strong. It lathers up well, I can use a dollop about the size of a quarter or so and get good lather. My hair is completely wet but this isn't a review about how to make lather. It has helped with getting oil off my scalp, minimizing bad stuff, cleaning hair fresh and smells ok. I wouldn't buy this to smell nice though-there are myriad other shampoos I'd go to for the smell. This smells to me a bit like Wrigleys Spearmint--it's not like women are running to men and men to women and partners to partners to smell like Wrigleys, I got it to wash, reduce oils , dry out stuff without drying my hair. Someone said the stuff is watery--I don't think so, it's viscuous. Every shampoo I've used has a different viscosity. I just know I put my dollop in my very wet hair and scrub away. It's shampoo, it's teatrea oil ish........I'm fine and the price is ok.

I ran into trouble with my scalp that absolutely nothing I tried over the course of many months did anything to heal. I learned that aloe vera can make rashes and wounds worse, not better, and most products made to soothe and heal are based on aloe vera and other oils that did me no good whatsoever, just exacerbated and prolonged the problem. My sister, living in a totally different climate, recommended this shampoo and conditioner and finally I tried it. It has done SO MUCH BETTER than anything else and I LOVE THE AROMA. The witch-hazel not only gives the it a more pure and fresh cleanse but also combines with the mint and tea tree to make it smell very similar sacred Palo Santo wood (slightly like sandalwood or very mild copal). With the companion conditioner, my hair is very soft, clean and fluffy and my scalp is the best it has been in over a year since this crazy problem started. I don't want anything else for my hair forever now!

This shampoo is amazing. I have an EXTREMELY dry itchy scalp, that is not helped by the fact that my nervous tick is picking or scratching at my scalp. Three washes with this has pretty much eradicated my scabs to where I’m not embarrassed to get a hair cut or have a hair dresser in my hair. My hair also feels SO soft and usually I have pretty coarse hair. I also use the ogx coconut shampoo and conditioner set, all three in my hair twice a week and omg. I’ve noticed a difference in like 2 weeks. I do let the tea tree shampoo set in my hair for a few minutes and it has really changed my hair. This was a last resort before I bought some crazy expensive products and I definitely won’t be doing that now. I also really love the fragrance and lather ability of this shampoo, it smells really minty but not overwhelmingly so, and it lathers up very well. My extension specialist gave it the ok for my extensions as well, so that’s nice and it’s waaaaaayyyyy more affordable than redkin or the from the salon stuff I was about to invest in 😩

I love this shampoo! The smell is amazing and when I wash my hair I can definitely tell there is mint. It makes my scalp feel refreshed and clean!

I used OGX's Extra Strength Tea Tree Oil Shampoo dedicatedly, and after 5 years of testing different products for my hair, this was the only one that provided EVERYTHING I was looking for. I used it for a solid two to three years, and I guarantee that I would pay ANY PRICE to get it back. The discontinuation of this product has truly impacted my hair's health, as I recently ran out of my last bottle. I'm lucky to have purchased a new one from Amazon. However, I'm worried this might be my last, which makes me dread washing my hair again 😭. PLEASE RE-CONTINUE THIS PRODUCT, I beg of you!!!🙏 😥 🙏

really do a good job at what I wanted it to do. I have an itchy scalp non related to dandruff, so I was wanting something calming. It does an ok job, but not for me. it will help for about half a day and thats it. It smells good, my hair feels softer, I don't get the tingle on the scalp that I like, but it's still a decent shampoo. May work for you, just doesn't for me.

Pretty disappointed! My scalp is itching now after one use. Was looking for a cheap sulfate free shampoo for super oily scalp but an itchy scalp is definitely a fail. Can't comment yet on oil control.
