I had my windshield lift motor replaced once already under warranty and long after buying my Chieftain brand-new. I hoped that the newer bikes would have fixed this very common issue. Even though my bike is under warranty I decided to upgrade the plastic Acme gear to this aluminum Acme gear. I wanted it fixed once and for all. Plus I use the double click for full up and full down often. Using this feature makes the plastic gear fail even faster. I have seen these for a hundred dollars elsewhere so I was a little concerned buying this one given it costs so much less. Don't let that sway you. This black anodized aluminum part fits and works beautifully. There is a YouTube video showing step by step instructions. I recommend watching that. Make sure you grease the Acme threaded rod and block. And do not over tighten the two small nuts at the end of the two small rods that holds the bearing bracket in place. Test the action of the aluminum gear block with the motor removed and to spread the grease evenly. And wipe any excess off. It should slide to each end effortlessly. This block fits very well and the tolerances, fit and finish are great. If you do this you shouldn't have any issues with noise and operation. With the right tools I was able to install in about an hour and half. I had already installed mini ape bars so I had experience in removing the front of the fairing . I highly recommend this part and I'm surprised more haven't bought this already. This has been the only issue I've had on my 2019 Indian Chieftain Limited since buying it and I'm glad it's fixed now.

That said, if you're buying this, you know where it goes and what it's for, so you'll be looking for a YouTube installation video anyway.Exact fit for OEM plastic part it replaces. process takes about 3+ hours - the fairing cover has to be removed, as well as much of the plastic trim / instrument covers (top half of the fairing).Besides this part and the tools for disassembly / reassembly, you'll need a tablespoon of heavy grease for the threaded cylinder.No noise or chatter from this part. Works well - at a decent price.

Pretty simple, replaces the plastic nut that gets stripped out by the worm gear. Works great!

It’s not that I didnt like this block. It seems to be very well made and it would be a great replacement for the plastic block that comes on these bikes, that’s a fact. BUT, THIS WILL NOT FIT A 2017” and lower Indian roadmaster or any 2017 and lower year model Indian with a motorized windshield. The motor block is different than the 2018’s and up. JUST A HEADS UP BEFORE YOU BUY THIS BLOCK AND SHOULD BE NOTED IN THE ADVERTISEMENT PAGE. Thank you. The one I sent pics of is the 2017 block style.

Fit on the mount as it’s supposed to; however, there is a bit of noise when powering the window down.
