Robust, easy to use & effective
Sometimes I think this is the only thing keeping me up and running. It's not overly heavy and easy to use. It feels robust and comes with a nice long lead.I have been receiving physiotherapy for the last 20 years or so as a form of "maintenance" due to my own personal quirky physiognomy: nothing drastic but stiff back muscles and tight hamstrings are a symptom. This thing can get into those knotty areas (using the hard tip) in a quite satisfying manner. The softer tips can be used to work on less "padded" areas, i.e. wrists, elbows, etc...It isn't a total substitute for professional treatment, but it goes a long way to help relieve tight muscle problems.Love it to bits!

powerful, though not for me
Thumper is a good name for this massager. It's powerful, though personally I found it a bit on the heavy side weightwise and also found the action to be somewhat brutal, especially if working on the top shoulders and neck area - increasing the speed does not make the action any smoother. I was hoping a massage machine that gradually builds in intensity. That being said, this machine will be ideal for many who do running and weights, as it will definitely tuck in to those tight glutes, back and legs areas with penetrating zeal!

Bliss!
My chiropractor uses a larger version of this on my back and I was immediately impressed by how effective it was. I got this little one as it's brilliant at soothing my muscles after a heavy weightlifting workout and if the dreaded delayed onset muscle soreness sets in. Great liitle thing!

Thumper self use, single head
I bought a single head self use same make as my chiropractor uses. Feels the same and as good as the double head they use at the practice.

UPDATE: It seems smoother now & is rattling less and feels more stable than at first
UPDATE further below -Rattling and feeling unstable CONTRARY to quietness and smoothness advertised and I quote -"VERY QUIET AND COMFORTABLE TO USE - Virtually no kickback to the hands and arms so you can massage for longer without any discomfort. Very quiet for a peaceful and pleasant massage experience."I have 3 other Thumper devices, so I am quite disappointed. The actual massage delivered is acceptable. I am wondering whether I just got the one that should have failed quality control, or are they all the same and how reliable might they actually be, and crucially, how reliable can I expect this one to be?This machine was advertised by Thumper Store but then Physique Management appear as the supplier on the order instead. Also, Thumper Store does not list the Thumper Verve as part of its range. This looks quite odd to me.UPDATE:This Thumper Verve seemed to settle with use (probably more than an hour in total) and feels acceptable to me now. I wonder if the now outdated motoring notion, of running a new car in, is similar enough to be applicable with these massagers.I hope (speculate/extrapolate optimistically from my other models purchased ) that this Thumper Verve will prove to be as reliable as the Thumper Mini Pro and Thumper Maxi Pro that I already owned for many years.
