Bought this for Shed air flow. works perfectly IT has a screen to stop bugs etc from entering.love it. Quality, easy to install. worth every penny.PJMD

The silver screws stand out too much against the black so we will replace them. Other than that, good quality & would order again. In fact, we are ordering a white one for the chicken coop.

This vent is so much better built than I was expecting. It is not flimsy like the plastic or stamped metal vents.I grabbed the outer frame and it does NOT flex or twist. Solid construction. Nice black finish overall. pressing on the louvers, they are solid. Are not pushed aside by slight pressure which is great. I plan to use this about 2 feet from the ground as an air intake for a garage so I am concerned about squirrels or rodents getting in. Not a concern with these louvers. Plus, the eighth inch mesh screen is wrapped/pinched over a corner held in place by a metal angle going the whole around the inside of the vent. This will not allow the screen to be pushed aside by rodents and keep the flies/bees out. You never want standard window screen (about 1/16" mesh) since it will block much airflow. The screen is black in color so it is not visible from outside like silver colored mesh would be. The screen is magnetic, so assume it is steel or galvanized mesh.Disappointing the screws are shiny/silver color, though a dab of black paint will take care of that. The screws have slight magnetic attraction but not as much as steel, so it seems like the screws are a form of stainless.The overall construction should allow near full flow of air through the vent. Much better flow than other style vents I have seen. The dimensions are about a tenth of an inch under 12 for the outside frame and the cutout to pass the inside frame is about a tenth of an inch over 10 inches.The gloves are a great thing to include. So many people don't think about how bad things can happen to your hand while doing an install. Working with metal can cause deep cuts. However, this louver is fairly smooth. Main sharp areas are the edges of the screen mesh that sticks out a little, not a big deal compared to other products.

This wall vent is exactly as described and it has gloves included to help when assembling it. It comes with 4 screws as well and was very easy for me to replace with our old one. As long as the sizing is accurate with your vent then you will have no issue in assembling it. It does look like it is made of great quality and sturdy and has no chipping or damage.

Outside edge to edge measures 11 3/4 - inch. Inside edge to edge measures 9 7/8 -inch.

Upon arrival, it felt very fragile. The blinds fell off during installation. The quality is very poor.
