Nice Travel Gaming Set
If you like playing games such as chess, backgammon or draughts (checkers if you are from the USA) this is a great little set. It is nice and compact, rolling up into a small tube type shape for storage, it even has thought about how to store the 'pieces' as there is a tubular section with a zip that you put them into.Quality of the board is really quite nice as it is made of a leather like (TP?) material which means it will be resilient, waterproof and should offer a good long product life. However it's strength is also one of its few weaknesses because being a leather type product, once rolled out it is very difficult to get it to lay flat. This is the problem with this type of material as if stored rolled like this is it will tend to want to remain rolled once opened up. Perhaps a better option would have been a felt or material type product, although the downside there would be you'd lose the waterproof properties and over time it would be likely to degrade quicker. The other thing to mention is the pieces, naturally to be portable these are pretty small and are actually small round discs. I understand the reason for this as you need to produce them like this to keep the set small and portable. However it does make them a little fiddly and with the chess pieces it is not so easy to identify everything at a glance. However this is not a show-stopper, just something you need to be aware of as this is part of the 'portable' aspect of the set.So there you go, not exactly 100% perfect, but the compromises made are there to make this what it is meant to be a portable and compact travel set which it meets perfectly.

A Pretty Set, but It Didn't Lay Very Flat
I like the idea of a roll-up backgammon and chess set (I'm personally not bothered about draughts), but unfortunately there's one annoying problem with this set. And the problem is that it doesn't lay very flat.I tried flattening it out for about half an hour, but it still wasn't that flat. It made pieces prone to slipping. In the end, I used Blu Tack to stick the board down to the table. Then, at last, I was able to relax and enjoy playing my first ever game of backgammon. The problem of the board not being flat was even worse when I flipped over to the chess side.If only this laid out nice and flat, I'd be delighted with it. I think it looks pretty. It rolls up nice and compact. And I really like the PU leather. There was something else that disappointed me. And that is that there was no doubling cube included. Three of the product photos showed a doubling cube, so I was expecting this to be included.I'll end with a few quick thoughts on backgammon, from my perspective as a keen board game hobbyist who has hundreds of games.I find backgammon to be a fascinating blend of luck and strategy. Bad dice rolls in this game are I think a lot more interesting than in many modern games. It feels to me like the most important decisions you make are what to do when you get bad rolls.Bad rolls give you tricky, painful decisions to make, that I find very interesting. I'm really glad I tried backgammon, and I'll be looking to pick up a wooden set now. Next stop after that I think will be to try Go.

A nice little set
I review items for Amazon so did not pay for this item. The set worked well, it's a pleasing size. The rolled-out set needs a little convincing to stay flat but it was not a problem.I'd say that I'd prefer this to be made of leather if given the option. I had thought that the backgammon bits which are sewn on and not printed would be problematic but they were not.Putting the pieces away can be a bit of a challenge. We're looking to many years of use out of it in our Caravan. All in all a nice little set and you can choose your preferred colour.

Old school fun!
I love a game of chess with my kids (easy to beat...only joking) and this set immediately impressed with its compact and portable design. The board rolls up neatly, making it easy to toss in a bag or backpack. The green playing surface with double-sided pieces looks cool and eliminates the need for separate boards for each game.In summary:Pros:Compact and lightweight for easy travelDouble-sided pieces save space and eliminate the need for multiple boardsZippered pouch keeps pieces organised and prevents lossOffers three classic games in one set for varietyCons:Pieces might be too small for young childrenLong-term durability needs to be observedMy overall verdict is this is great for taking on family holidays to kill time in airports, planes or the beach. Anything that gets my kids off electronic devices is a plus for me. Recommended!

Nice set for travel.
This Chess/Backgammon set is fully portable and ideal for long journeys or taking with you camping or wherever you please really as it's so compact and lightweight,The Chess and Backgammon pieces and dice are stored neatly in a zipped compartment at one end and when your finished playing everything is kept safe and the board simply rolls up with a couple of ties to keep the board together,Made from cream coloured leather with one side for Backgammon and the other for Chess but keeping the board flat is a bit of a problem as being rollable it tends to curve upwards no matter what side you are using so you would need something at each corner to weight down the board to make it less slippy for thepieces but that's my only gripe as everything else is perfect,Great little travel game set and well designed and made.

Great idea feels well made sadly doesn't stay flat
We have a small caravan so space in important. This portable fold up games set is a great idea. Definitely doesn't take up much space. Looks stylish. Feels well made. So far so good. The mega frustrating thing for me is that the mat just does not stay flat. In end had to use tape to hold it down. A real shame.
