- The Sinner: A Dark College Romance

Great book with a great plot line it loses it ever so slightly for me and a mild repetitive energy towards the end but still kept me very engaged and going and of course a lot of smut and twists and turns to go around. 9.5/10. I love a longing man that’s loved you before you ever knew.

Coming off Ryat in the last book, I won’t lie, it took me a minute to fully settle into The Sinner. The bar was high, and the shift in focus definitely felt jarring at first. But once this story found its footing, it found it. This book is twisty in a way that keeps you second-guessing everything. Just when you think you understand the players and the power dynamics, another layer peels back and changes the entire picture. The plot is darker, more calculated, and far more strategic than I expected, and that ended up being its biggest strength. The tension builds slowly but deliberately, and by the time everything starts snapping into place, you’re fully locked in. Secrets, manipulation, and reveals stack on top of each other until you realize how carefully this story was constructed from the start. It may not hit with the immediate intensity of the previous book, but The Sinner delivers in its own way. Smart, layered, and full of surprises, this one proves the series knows exactly what it’s doing.

Elli is the daughter of a dead lord and has always known they existed. When she used to listen in on her mothers sex therapy sessions as a young teen she got caught by her step father and he forever took advantage of her and also allowed other lords to take advantage of her. To say Ellis life wasn’t easy is an understatement and it caused her to be a sex addict and substance abuse. Sin always knew elli would be his even growing up. She was his sisters best friend and has always been in love with her. And one night when he snuck into her house to kill her step father something happens between the two of them even though sin is the middle of his initiation to the lords and they’ve never been separated since. Now that he’s officially initiated and in his senior year he wastes no time making elli his. This was a very dark romance. In particular he pierced her nipples, tattooed his name on her lower back and married her all with her knowing. And that’s just some of the crazy things that happen. But one thing is for sure, Sin will do anything to keep elli even if that means betraying his own family and the lords. This book was good but the reason i rated it so low was because it seemed like elli was getting raped by literally every man that was brought up in the book and it got really heavy and a bit too much in my opinion. Spice was crazy. May take a while to read the others

The FMC has been through absolute hell—betrayed and abused by the very people who were supposed to protect her—and watching her story unfold was heavy but gripping. What made it hit even harder was the MMC… because he doesn’t just love her—he destroys everything in his path to protect and rebuild her. And yeah… that level of possessive, unhinged devotion? It just works here. The dynamic between them is intense, emotional, and honestly a little feral in the best way. The spice? 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Dark, dominant, and exactly what you’d expect from this world. If you know the Lords series, you already know—there’s violence, there’s chaos, there’s morally gray everything… and this book leans all the way into it. I don’t even have a ton of deep thoughts on this one—I just know I devoured it and loved every second.

Loved this wild and crazy story. The main characters are prefect for each other. The story feels like it never ends with the many twists and turns. There is definitely no lacking in the Hard-core smut. I still feel filthy thinking about each scene. Great long read !

I’m currently rereading and listening to the series, and I’ve gotta say, I didn’t fully appreciate this book until my second read! While it had always been a 5-star read for me, I noticed so much more this time around. The way Shantel seems to understand exactly what each MMC and FMC needs from the other is truly remarkable! All of the hardships Elli faced were incredibly heart-wrenching, but the way Sin entered the scene and provided her with exactly what she needed was everything! He was willing to go to any lengths for her. Additionally, the first glimpse of Carnage/the Spade brothers in this book foreshadows its significance later on. I understand that everyone talks about it, but the emotional depth of Sin’s letter truly broke me down. I’m glad I was listening to it this time because I wouldn’t have been able to fully comprehend the words through all my tears! It undoubtedly stands as one of the most impactful parts of a book I’ve ever read. He was willing to sacrifice his happiness and even his life for her, believing it was in her best interest. However, our Ellie found the strength within herself and fought to achieve the life she desired with Sin. The ending was mind-blowing, and it became even more so after my second read. The epilogue and the introduction of the children was the perfecting ending and getting to see the life Sin and Ellie created together. If we don’t get a next gen series with all the kids, I’ll be devastated! Some of my top quotes: "I want toxic. I want madness. I want someone who makes me question my sanity." He knew what he wanted and always made sure to get it. He didn’t take no for an answer, especially when in came to Elli Elli’s story shook me. That girl had it BEYOND rough her whole life. People she thought were there for her, were not. People she put her trust in, betrayed her. She had a very traumatic childhood, and young adult life. It broke my heart all she went through. The first half of this book was strictly smut haha not going to lie. But the second half, had me on the edge of my SEAT. The twists had me so shocked! This was by far the spiciest book I have ever read. It was filled with dark themes but it was really exciting. I was hooked to the story from the beginning. I didn't find a lot of chemistry between the protagonists but that didn't stop me from continuing to read the story. It took me a while to finish it but I enjoyed every second of it

the book came in perfect condition, can’t wait to start reading it!!
