Windproof and Quiet for Cold Rainy Walks
I wear these with longjohns so that I don't have to wash them as much, and for a way to keep that nasty fleece feeling off of my skin (fleece clothes are like fingernails on a blackboard to me). The fleece here is finer than usual, so it's already pretty good, but with long underwear, these are great. The fit is a bit odd, but it works well enough. I went by waist size and then hoped for the best - all good, just a bit long. The belt is cheap but functional. No wind penetration, even when it's gusting more than 40 in the Columbia Gorge!! Pretty quiet when walking too. I'm a super happy camper even if these won't last forever.I'll update after more time in harder rain. Cold and wind tests passed. I'm not afraid to go right into the rain with these on. It was such a good feeling to go out hiking in changing weather but feel totally at ease about the rain, cold and wind when I visited Puget Sound recently.Rating here is for function in weather, not durability or fashion. Also for value considering how much good hunting clothes cost.Five stars for keeping me warm and dry. If something fails early, I'll be back to update.Update December 31, 2019:These pants are NOT waterproof. They are good for about 20 minutes of moderate rain before they soak through. In spite of the water resistant zippers, my wallet got wet in the pocket.I really do like the way these pants resist cold winds and allow quiet walking. For very light rains, or better still, light showers during walks in the cold, these will do. Once they soak up the rain, they start to get uncomfortable and wet inside, starting at the knees.I'm knocking one star for false advertising "Waterproof". If there are additional quality issues I will come back and downgrade them again.I still don't know where one can find something like these at this price - I just wish that they really were waterproof.

Are you confused about Jessie Kidden waterproof fleece softshell pant reviews?
I purchased 2 pairs of the Jessie Kidden waterproof fleece softshell ski/hiking pants from "Arphoenix" seller on Amazon...both size 29...the khaki pant was more similar to amazon pics, but subtle differences such as neither pair having a belt, one pair has a button closure, the other a clip closure at the waist, the lack of zipper pull tabs that dont have reflective piping in them and contrasting stitching is black on amazon but what I received was not...the material of the pants are very different as well, both fleece lined, the khaki pair is not the polyester typical of this type of pant, I ran the outside hem under a sink faucet for 15 seconds and it started wetting out immediately and was still holding moisture the following morning...the fit was very nice for a 29 waist, the trim and more tapered look was what appealed to me and it was the only positive of this whole transaction...more ominously, the olive green paint came packaged without tags and the size label was cut off (my first time getting a previously used item from an amazon purchase in my 10+ years shopping on here), so its not a shocker that the side-by-side comparison included shows its a smaller and shorter pant than the khaki one next to it...I cant share on how the fit is because they were too tight to pull on...it also has zipper flaps over the pocket zippers (still no zipper pulls) and other stitching and styling aspects that clearly dont match what is presented on amazon...interestingly, the material of the olive green used pants I received is the fleece lined polyester typical of this pant but I didnt run a faucet test due to the utterly lost faith in caring further about anything else to do with this transaction other than initiate the refund process.

water proof, wind proof, breatheable
I am a concrete-mixer truck operator, so I needed some winter pants that are durable, can resist water, are very warm, but can also breathe, as I get in and out of my truck all day. these are it! and very affordable, because who wants to wear $100 pants in a messy environment? They totally shed water and wind. I am the perfect 34 waist-30 inseam pants guy, and the US Large is the perfect size. Soon i'll be ordering a second pair.

Landscape in Alabama winter
These pants felt comfortable trying on when they arrived. Im 5'9 170 and I typically wear a 33x30. I got the 34 just in case. They fit like a 34x32. Ill likely be wearing with a hiking boot so the length should be fine. Due to the elasticity, the 32 probably would have been better, but the 34 will work especially if I add a layer. The belt that comes with it is Super long, so you can either cut it to remove the excess, or scrap it and wear a fitted belt as I plan to do.

As described
These pants came pretty much as described. I say pretty much because in the photo there are two belt loops in the back (6 o'clock), but my pants only came with one (not sure about other customer's experience). This isn't too big of a deal for me, though.Color is accurate. Stitching seems good. In addition to their thermal and water repellent properties*, the placement of the back pockets attracted me. It honestly is a good concept to have the back pockets just off the cheek. I didn't know this at first, but they're hemmed shut at the corner bordering the hand-pocket, which can feel a bit awkward when reaching into them. Not sure if this is to help prevent items from falling out easily, but if so, then I believe having them hemmed at the corner bordering the hem dividing the posterior would have made more sense. This being said, for me, this is also not that big of a deal. The right side thigh pocket is zippered, not flapped. The zippers aren't YKK, but they seem to be of decent quality. Regardless, at this price-point, I believe YKK zippers should come standard. A plus is that the zipper of the right thigh-pocket has a flap over it, protecting it from the elements.*I bought these pants specifically for a trip to the northern US at a time where, aside from already being cold, polar vortexes can visit the region. My hope, based on previous reviews, is that they perform as expected, if not go above and beyond expectations. I will provide an update upon my return.

Essential for rainy winters!
Very happy I bought these before the rainy season, they're comfy and protect well against rain showers. I was surprised how warm they are too, despite being quite thin, they keep heat in and cold breezes out better than jeans.
