We don't have an ice maker in our fridge and using ice trays is difficult for the kids. For some reason even as teens they can't manage to not pack stuff on the ice cube trays in the stand up freezer!I got this and put it next to the fridge so I could have ice in my drinks without having to use a whole tray (after it spilled all over the freezer!) A dedicated ice maker just seemed easier than the constant headache of ice cube trays.I was right! I now have ice at my disposal whenever I need it without the frustration of using my freezer. I don't notice a big difference between small and large ice cubes but I don't much care. As long as I have ice for my drinks I'm haooy and this ice maker fits my needs.

This ice maker is great for parties, outdoor bar areas, or any situation where you need extra ice. Running out of ice can often be an issue when having a party or large gathering, and this ice maker can help you to avoid that problem. It's very easy to use. You do have to have realistic expectations however -- this can only make so much ice in a short amount of time. We find that it's best to turn it on a couple of hours before a party starts, and store the extra ice in the freezer -- so we have a full complement of ice from the beginning. Keep it running throughout the evening (while occasionally refilling the water reservoir), and you'll always have more ice when you need it. The cubes are a little on the small side, but they are a decent size for cocktails or other drinks. For some reason, I didn't notice a significant difference between the small and large ice cube setting -- if anything, the large setting created cubes that are slightly smaller.

I needed and ice maker, and I didn't like the one that was inside or freezer. We have an older fridge up down with no water dispenser. I wanted and ice maker so I can have a cold drink, especially an ice coffee in the morning. Easy to put the water in the machine, it makes the ice, and it's done. It's nice it makes two different sizes of ice nuggets small and large. It reminds me of chi FILa ice. The machine is a little heavy.

I thought i was buying NUGGET ice like the ice that you get from Sonic & I ended up with bullet ice. By the way small & large ice is about the same! Way to trick somebody 😢

I really enjoy entertaining others, and one of the biggest challenges when it comes to hosting others is a lack of ice. This unit looked to be a good option for helping solve the issue, and I've always been intrigued about countertop ice makers, so I picked one up.The ice maker arrived nicely packaged and was very easy to prepare for its first use. Within ten minutes the machine had hummed through a cycle and we witnessed the very cool mechanism that pushes the ice into the bin. Each cube had a hole in the middle and clearly was frozen, but not hard-frozen like you might see from a household freezer or from a commercial icehouse.The ice was a good quality for the speed and worked wonderfully in a can of soda. It did seem to melt a little faster than other ice but didn't seem to affect the taste of the beverage. We used it for general household purposes for a few days and put it away. The following week we had a party and started it up again - it worked as intended! We put it away and used it again for New Years, and all was great! I am excited that it seems to do well for some extended use as well as once in a while.Just remember - the ice does not feel fully frozen like a freezer and will ultimately melt in the hopper. This machine is more for making ice to be used quickly and not for storing ice.Overall, it's a great tool for making ice and appears to be a great workhorse.

I LOVE this ice maker! It doesn't create the tiny nugget-sized ice, but it creates medium to large sized ice cubes. We have no ice maker in our older fridge that came with our rental and this ice maker has been such a nice addition for us! It is VERY efficient and fills the ice basket quickly. One set of ice cubes typically freezes in 20-30 min. I did find that distilled water is better than tap water (and I can certainly taste the difference). The ice cubes made with distilled water were also VERY clear compared to those made with tap water. I really do think this is the perfect purchase and worth every penny! I highly recommend!
