I’ve enjoyed trying some of these snacks and treats from Japan. There are some nice bits in here, plus some quite unusual and downright weird ones (to my Western palette) - case in point are the almonds which also have little whole fry fishes in them?Japan is somewhere I have never visited but always wanted to, so this is a nice little taster of some of their sweets and snacks that gives me an insight into their tastes and approach to things. The packaging of all the items is really quite wild, with not a single square millimetre gone to waste that hasn’t been filled with wording or some cartoon character. It’s a bit boggling to the senses trying to work out what’s going on.The box does come with a printed sheet that advises you what is in each of the items, but this sheet alone is not really enough to help you match things up. A Google Lens image search was more helpful, and also enquiring with some work colleagues who had closer ties to Japan did help me isolate some of the items that I knew I’d be OK with.A couple of the items I’ve not had as I knew I wouldn’t like them, but for the most part it has been a fun experience. I am still amazed at how seemingly-chaotic the visual treatment of these products are, and how much plastic packaging goes into sometimes encapsulating 10 crystalised grains of sugar for instance.

A lovely gift for my nephews birthday! Great variety of snacks with a list of the products and ingredients translated included with it that made it a lot easier than other sellers!

Brilliant selection

This is a rather varied selection of thirty small snacks. They come nicely boxed so great for giving as a gift.The snacks have writing in Japanese yet the ingredient list is in English. From this and with rather a lot of effort I’ve managed due to the QR code to work out that most of the items are not halal or veggie friendly.At least eight items are not halal. Many of the items contain fish (halal).This is a very expensive box of snacks that I would definitely avoid if you are looking for a product that is veggie friendly or halal.Even with the QR code I wasn’t able to work out if a few of the snacks were halal. There was no pictures on the website.

This very varied selection makes a great gift for an adventurous japanophile; there's quite a variety in there - some snacks even contain fish. As long as someone doesn't have a restricted diet and is open to new flavours, this is a really fun selection and very giftable.

The media could not be loaded.  This is such an usual gift box idea that I simply had to try it. I used to be a huge fan of anime, studi Ghibli and Japanese culture so this really appealed to me in terms of tasting a bit of their pop culture!I haven't yet tried the sweets and treats because I really don't want to spoil the packaging, it's so fun and colourful, it brightens my day to look at it.This would make a special gift for someone who is a fan of Japanese culture, I think it's such an unique present to treasure or savour.
