How long would 1kg last for in appropriate storage?

I leave it in its resealable bag and its been perfectly ok after six months or so, or how ever long it takes for you to use it. Otherwise put it in an airtight container.

Less than a year: I left mine too long thinking it would last forever like many oils but it started tasting awful.

What's the expiry date on the current batch?

I don't know about the current batch, I bought mine a few years ago. Although its expiry date has been and gone, it still smells and tastes fine!
